Jobs in Germany
At Trusted Shops, we're shaping Europe's Community of Trust – a space where businesses and consumers connect with confidence, transparency, and security. Every day, millions of users and thousands of companies across Europe trust us to deliver safe, reliable, and seamless digital experiences.
Home of our product development is the Products & Engineering department, which consists of 15 cross-functional product teams across three product domains, working in an agile environment.
Your Key Responsibilities as Senior Product Manager (f/m/d):
As a Senior Product Manager (f/m/d) for our Buyer Protection Services, you will own a system that quietly underpins the trust millions of European consumers place in online shopping. This isn't a greenfield role full of workshops and whiteboarding — it's a role for a PM who is energized by understanding how a complex claims, payouts, and risk system actually works under the hood, and who finds satisfaction in shipping the unglamorous improvements that move real business metrics.
This role is based in either Cologne or Berlin, with hybrid working.
You'll work deep in the mechanics of buyer protection: claim flows, payout logic, fraud and abuse edge cases, subscription and billing interactions, regulatory and compliance constraints, and the data models that hold it all together. Decisions here are rarely about "what should we build next" in the abstract — they're about which specific lever, threshold, or workflow change unlocks measurable impact. You will partner closely with Engineering, Data, Operations, Finance, and Risk to make those calls with rigor.
If you're a PM who reads runbooks for fun, who would rather spend an afternoon in SQL than in a brainstorming session, and who gets a kick out of turning a tangled legacy process into something that just works — this role will suit you.
What we're looking for:
Proven experience as a Senior Product Manager owning business-critical systems or features, ideally in SaaS, financial services, insurance, payments, or other domain-heavy environments
Genuine comfort with technical and operational detail — you like understanding how systems work, reading data models, tracing edge cases, and asking engineers the second and third "why"
Strong analytical instincts: you reach for data before opinions, and you can frame a problem in numbers before proposing a solution
A bias for incremental, compounding improvements over big-bang launches — you understand that in mature, high-impact systems, the wins come from many well-targeted changes
Working knowledge of SQL (or willingness to get fluent quickly) — you'll use it
Understanding of financial, insurance, or compliance-heavy environments and the technical, functional, data, and regulatory constraints they bring
Calm in ambiguity — you're comfortable when the problem space is messy, the legacy is real, and the right answer requires digging
Excellent written and verbal communication in English (German is a plus). You can translate fluently between engineering, finance, operations, and risk stakeholders, and you write things down so decisions stick
Experience with Customer Service and Subscription Management tools and systems is a plus
What we offer you:
Hybrid work: Combine flexible remote work with team time in the office
Workation: Temporarily work from a destination of your choice within the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway
Permanent contract with Europe's trusted brand
