  • About the role

    We’re looking for one AI Engineering Intern to help us build AI systems end-to-end for one of the most complex workflows in European healthcare: procurement. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role for candidates with high agency. At SANOVIO, you will collaborate closely with a small, high-performing team and gain real-world experience building AI-enabled applications in a cross-border B2B environment.

    Tasks

    • Work across the full stack to build AI agents and AI-enabled workflows end-to-end

    • Improve search and matching quality for products, suppliers, and documents

    • Build evaluations to measure quality and iterate quickly

    • Build data pipelines to process large-scale unstructured data efficiently

    • Support backend improvements to keep systems scalable, stable, and efficient

    • Improve reliability of AI workflows through structured outputs, tool calling, and guardrails


    Qualifications

    • High agency and a builder mindset, you iterate quickly and get things done

    • Experience or strong interest in NLP, LLMs, embeddings, ML, and AI-powered applications

    • First experience with full-stack development, ideally TypeScript and Python, plus React or Next.js

    • Strong problem-solving capabilities and willingness to learn new technologies fast

    • You’re excited to strive for excellence and build software in a fast-paced startup environment

    • You want to work in-person in Munich with more intensity than in a traditional 9–5 role

    About the interview process

    Step 1: Intro call

    Casual intro meeting with one of the founders to get to know each other and introduce SANOVIO.

    Step 2: Technical interview

    A take-home technical challenge to showcase your skills, followed by a call to walk us through your approach, insights, and solution for the take-home exercise.

    Step 3: Personal Fit

    Meet another co-founder to get a feel for our culture and working style.

    Step 4: Offer
