Shape the product strategy for a growing HealthTech platform in Germany

At Recare, we are building a multi-product hospital platform that helps healthcare professionals spend less time on bureaucracy and more time with patients. Alongside our established discharge marketplace, we are expanding a portfolio that includes voice capture, medical document generation, patient context, clinical agents, AI chat, and predictive models. Recare’s broader platform already serves hundreds of hospitals and supports care coordination workflows across the healthcare system.

As Head of Product (m/w/d), you will lead the product strategy for Recare’s hospital platform. You will lead a growing product organisation across multiple product groups, guide portfolio-level prioritisation, and connect product decisions to customer value, adoption, differentiation, and commercial outcomes.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines strategic product thinking with hands-on product judgment, strong people leadership, and a high bar for B2B software in complex and regulated environments.

Your mission

You will define the strategic logic behind Recare’s hospital platform: which products we invest in, in what sequence, for which users and segments, and why.

You will lead product leaders and product managers across multiple product groups, strengthen the product operating model, and help translate company vision into a coherent product portfolio.

Your responsibilities as Head of Product (m/w/d)

Own the product strategy for the hospital platform

Define and continuously refine the product strategy across Recare’s hospital-facing portfolio.
Turn company vision into clear strategic choices around sequencing, positioning, segmentation, differentiation, and investment focus.
Decide where to place bets across established and emerging products, balancing short-term business impact with long-term platform value.
Make clear prioritisation calls and communicate the rationale behind them across product, engineering, design, data, and commercial teams.

Lead a multi-product portfolio

Oversee three product groups: Docs & Capture, Patient Platform, and Agent & AI Chat.
Ensure the portfolio works as a coherent system rather than a set of disconnected roadmaps.
Align portfolio priorities with customer needs, market opportunities, adoption signals, and commercial goals.
Drive clarity on where Recare should accelerate, iterate, or say no.

Develop and lead the product organisation

Lead, coach, and develop a growing team of product leaders and product managers.
Support experienced PMs with context and autonomy while actively developing newer team members.
Raise the bar for product thinking, strategic judgment, customer understanding, analytical rigour, and execution quality.
Create an environment of ownership, clarity, honest feedback, and strong collaboration.

Strengthen the product operating model

Improve how product teams plan, review, prioritise, and ship.
Build scalable decision-making and planning cadences that keep teams aligned without adding unnecessary process.
Shape effective collaboration between Product, Engineering, Design, Data, go-to-market teams, and leadership.
Ensure product development stays close to users, metrics, and business outcomes.

Stay close to customers, product, and execution

Be actively involved in discovery, product reviews, strategic trade-offs, and major launches.
Work closely with customer-facing teams and stakeholders to understand hospital workflows and market dynamics.
Bring a strong point of view on product quality, usability, and simplicity in complex healthcare workflows.
Stay close enough to the work to support teams directly when needed.

Hiring and organisation building

Help define upcoming product hires and role scopes.
Play an active role in interviewing and hiring product talent.
Build the product organisation Recare needs for its next stage of growth.

Who you will work with

You will report to the Director of Product and work closely with the Head of Engineering, Head of Design, and Head of Data, as well as leadership and commercial teams.

What we are looking for

Deep experience in product management, including substantial time in senior product leadership roles.
Strong track record leading multiple PMs and/or product leaders across more than one product line.
Experience in a scale-up environment where a company must balance a core revenue-driving product with newer products that still require investment and validation.
Deep strength in product strategy, including segmentation, positioning, competitive thinking, prioritisation, and sequencing.
Experience managing multi-product portfolios with different maturity levels, users, and go-to-market needs.
Strong coaching skills and a proven ability to develop product managers with different experience levels and needs.
Excellent product sense and a high bar for simple, well-crafted user experiences in complex B2B or regulated environments.
Strong understanding of AI-native product development, including the implications of LLMs, non-deterministic systems, and emerging product patterns.
Confidence making decisions with incomplete information and moving forward with pragmatism and ownership.
Excellent communication skills in English.

Nice to have

Experience in digital health, HealthTech, hospital software, clinical workflows, care coordination, interoperability, or other regulated software environments.
Experience building products that combine SaaS, workflow software, data products, and AI capabilities.
German language skills.
