  • Our mission

We are building the operating system for the €20B German tax advisory industry.

At Limetax, we acquire established tax advisories and transform them into high-performing, technology-enabled businesses. Instead of building software in isolation, we work directly on real companies, real workflows, and real data.

Our goal is simple: reduce manual work in tax advisory and redefine how tax operations are run — through applied AI.

    Your mission

As an Applied AI Engineering Intern, you will work on systems that automate real tax workflows using AI.

You won’t be working on demos or side projects. You will build and improve systems that are actively used in production — from document processing to decision support.

Your work will directly impact how tax professionals operate on a daily basis.

How your day-to-day will look like

    Build AI Systems
Design and improve document intelligence systems that process real tax documents at scale.

    Work with LLMs & RAG
Develop and iterate on retrieval-based systems using internal knowledge bases, tax law, and client data.

    Ship Data Pipelines
Work on pipelines that power ML and AI workflows in production environments.

    Improve Decision Systems
Contribute to prediction and suggestion systems (e.g. booking proposals, anomaly detection).

    Operate in Production
Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve AI systems running in real workflows.

    Collaborate Closely
Work directly with founders, engineers, and domain experts to translate real processes into AI-driven solutions.

Is it you we are looking for?

    You are...

    • Studying Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Information Systems, or a related field

    • Someone who has built at least one end-to-end project (e.g. LLM app, ML pipeline, or data system)

    • Comfortable working with Python (TypeScript is a plus)

    • Curious about applying AI in real-world, high-stakes environments

    • A hands-on builder who enjoys working with messy, real data

    • Interested in how systems behave in production — not just in notebooks

    • Someone who takes ownership and likes to see things through end-to-end

    • Able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

    Why Limetax?

    Real impact from day one
You will work on AI systems that are deployed in production and actively used. Your work will reduce manual work and improve real operations — within weeks.

    Real world problems
Work with real transactions, documents, and client histories across multiple firms.

    Ownership early on
You won’t just support — you will take ownership of meaningful parts of the system and ship features that go live.

    Tight feedback loop
See how your work performs in real workflows and iterate quickly.

    Steep learning curve
Work on real systems, real constraints, and real impact — alongside experienced builders.

    Path to full-time
Strong performance can directly lead to a full-time role.
