Jobs in Germany
The biggest problem in brick-and-mortar retail for advertisers: no proof of impact. Brands invest millions in point-of-sale advertising but cannot demonstrate whether it actually leads to purchases.
Verve Retail Media (VRM) solves this problem. We market and operate digital advertising screens across several thousand grocery, drugstore, and convenience locations, and connect them with digital coupons and retargeting on CTV and other offsite channels. Brands don’t book isolated ad formats, but rather 360-degree campaigns that start at home and continue all the way to in-store purchase - enabled by closed-loop measurement based on real checkout data.
VRM is the independent retail media unit of the publicly listed Verve Group SE. We operate like a fast-scaling startup with an AI-first strategy across all functions, while leveraging the infrastructure of an international adtech company delivering over one trillion ad impressions per year.
The Role: Your Mission
This role focuses on our innovative couponing and sales promotion solutions. Our technology, from cashback apps and checkout couponing to our powerful "Promotion Hub", is integrated into over 30,000 retail locations, influencing purchasing decisions and driving measurable sales. As the Technical Product Manager for Promotions, you will be the central bridge between our company's leadership and our agile development teams. You are a strategic translator, capable of converting high-level business goals into a clear, actionable product roadmap. You will own the product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring our MarTech solutions remain innovative, competitive, and highly effective.
This is a critical leadership role for a technical, data-driven, and collaborative individual who thrives on execution.
Strategic Product Vision & Roadmap:
Develop, own, and communicate the product vision and strategy for acardo's suite of consumer activation products (e.g., Promotion Hub, eCouponing, Check-out Couponing).
Translate the strategic goals set by senior leadership and the Group CPO into a prioritized product roadmap, detailed user stories, and clear technical requirements.
Bridge Leadership and Development:
Act as the primary product evangelist, ensuring the development, UX/UI, and engineering teams have a deep understanding of the "why" behind the "what."
Represent the development teams in C-level and leadership meetings, providing clear updates on progress, articulating technical challenges, and managing expectations.
Cross-Functional Execution:
Lead and collaborate with agile development teams, guiding them through sprints, backlog grooming, and release planning.
Work closely with Key Account Management, Sales, and Marketing to understand client needs (both retailers and CPG brands) and market demands.
Data-Driven Leadership:
Define and track key product metrics (KPIs and OKRs) to measure success, user engagement, and campaign effectiveness.
Utilize data from our extensive retail and consumer network to identify new product opportunities and improvements.
Team & Stakeholder Management:
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the product and tech teams.
Manage and prioritize the needs of multiple stakeholders, from internal engineers to major external retail partners.
Technical Fluency: A strong technical background, ideally with experience in MarTech, AdTech, FinTech, or Retail Tech. You must be comfortable discussing APIs, data structures, and POS integrations with engineers.
The "Bridge" Personality: You have exceptional communication and translation skills. You can confidently present a high-level strategy to the board in the morning and dive into technical acceptance criteria with an engineer in the afternoon.
Agile & Scrum Master: Deep expertise in agile methodologies. You know how to run an effective product backlog and work within a sprint-based environment.
Data-Obsessed: You are analytical by nature and base your decisions on data, not just intuition.
Collaborative & Proactive: You are a natural leader who takes ownership, builds consensus, and is passionate about building great products with a great team.
Language: Since we are an international team, fluency in English and German is required.
We hire based on how you think, write, and get things done - not on cover letter polish.
Send your CV together with a short writing sample (max. 1 page). Pick one real situation from your work - a complex feature you shipped, a process you fixed, or a workflow you automated with AI - choose one and walk us through it.
Use this structure:
What was the problem? Not the context - the actual problem. What was broken, slow, or unclear? What was the root cause?
What did you do? Not the team. What did you decide, build, or change? What trade-offs did you make?
What was the measurable outcome? Numbers, KPIs, before/after - be specific.
What would you do differently today? What did you learn? What wasn't perfect?
Write it like a memo your CEO could read in 3 minutes and walk away with a clear picture - no fluff, no filler. This sample replaces a cover letter.
This role isn’t for everyone - and that’s intentional. We’re building Verve Retail Media from the ground up, reducing legacy structures, places to hide, and “passenger seats”. This is a place for people who want to build, take ownership, and see the direct impact of their work.
You won’t be one of many - you’ll be one of the few shaping how this company grows, decides, and wins. And every role counts - from Office Management to Chief of Staff.
If you’re looking for comfort, predictability, or perfectly defined lanes, this probably isn’t your environment. If you’re looking for steep growth, real responsibility, and the chance to work with people who raise your bar - you’ll feel at home here.
What you can expect:
Real ownership from day one - take decisions, not just tasks
A steep learning curve - accelerated growth through real responsibility, not theory
High-performing peers - work with ambitious, driven people who challenge and support you
Direct impact - your work will shape products, processes, and outcomes in real time
Cutting-edge tools - including AI-powered workflows that multiply your output
Continuous development - training budget, internal learning formats, and language courses
This is a place where expectations are high - and so is the opportunity to grow, contribute, and build something meaningful.
