Mews is a fast-growing unicorn company, and it's hard to distill every nuance of the role, but the scope and responsibilities include the following:
The Design Operations division takes care of the experience of our designers, encompassing four disciplines – Design System, UX Research, Service Design, and Design Experience. Together, they provide a complex set of tools, assets, processes, and methodologies to ensure smooth cross-team collaboration and communication. Design Operations acts as the back office for the Design team, allowing designers to focus on what matters most – providing remarkable solutions for our customers.
As the Director of Design Operations, you will lead a team of design leaders, creating a vision and strategies for the team and ensuring professional growth. You will also act as a mentor, guiding the team to the best possible outcomes.
You will elevate the quality of Design Operations and enhance our team's experience, culture, and community. We are looking for someone who will take our operations to a new level.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- As a passionate design leader experienced in Design Operations, you possess a strategic view on operations that guides your daily activities, including executing strategies alongside other design leaders.
- You understand that collaboration and communication are essential for a healthy and happy team and you are happy to step into the spotlight and take a leading role in internal and external communications.
- Nurturing a great design culture is your first thought upon waking each morning.
- Your passion for the Design System is evident, and you confidently demonstrate this in stakeholder meetings.
- As a strong leader, you motivate and drive your team to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- You are adept at engaging with stakeholders at various levels of leadership.
- You are committed to ensuring the professional growth and development of your team.
- For you, 'process' is not a curse word; rather, it brings you joy when it functions as intended.
- You prioritize proactive problem solving, aiming to identify problems before they arise.
- You uphold quality as paramount, expecting it from every discipline within your team.
🤝️ You'll be a great match if you bring these:
- 5+ years of experience in leadership positions within Design.
- Experience in Design Operations within the fast-paced environment of SaaS startups or scale-ups.
- Active participation in the Design community, both locally and globally.
- Regular mentorship provided to others, extending beyond professional duties.
- Proven experience in public speaking and maintaining a social media presence.
