ABOUT BLACK EMBER GAMES
Black Ember Games, an all-new development team within Xsolla, is looking for a Senior Producer to join our team building an asymmetrical multiplayer FPS using Unreal Engine 5.
Our small internal team operates with an indie mindset, fueled by our passion for games. We're a diverse, lively group dedicated to exploring new ideas within genres we love to play. We enjoy a hybrid work model, collaborating in our central Berlin and Novi Sad offices.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for an experienced, on-site Senior Producer to join our game development team in Kreuzberg, Berlin. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in our Berlin office.
You are a battle-tested production leader who has successfully shipped titles across the full development lifecycle and knows what it takes to keep a cross-functional team aligned, motivated, and moving. You bring structure without rigidity — building schedules and processes that serve the team rather than constrain it. You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate with clarity across disciplines, and are as comfortable discussing design intent with a Lead Designer as you are breaking down a milestone with a Lead Engineer.
You understand that great games are made by great teams, and you take pride in removing blockers, fostering accountability, and creating the conditions for your colleagues to do their best work. If you are someone who leads with empathy, plans with precision, and ships with purpose, we would love to hear from you.
Production Planning & Scheduling
Own the end-to-end development schedule, building and maintaining detailed, realistic production plans from pre-production through ship and beyond
Define milestones, deliverables, and sprint goals in close collaboration with discipline leads and studio leadership
Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and critical path issues, and develop clear mitigation strategies
Track progress across all workstreams and ensure the team is consistently working toward well-defined, achievable targets
Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and milestone reviews, driving continuous improvement in team process and efficiency
Cross-Functional Team Leadership
Serve as the central coordination point across design, engineering, art, QA, and other disciplines while working closely with other Producers to divide responsibilities while remaining accountable
Facilitate clear, consistent communication across the team — ensuring everyone understands priorities, progress, and blockers at all times
Partner with leads to manage scope thoughtfully, making well-reasoned trade-off decisions that protect both quality and schedule
Foster a healthy, high-trust team culture that supports creativity while maintaining professional accountability
Lead meetings with clear agendas, goals, and objectives to ensure clear decisions and to limit meeting time.
Tooling & Process
Administer and maintain the studio's Jira and Confluence environments, ensuring they reflect accurate, up-to-date project state
Establish and champion production best practices, documentation standards, and workflow conventions across the team
Evaluate and continuously improve production processes to increase team efficiency and reduce friction
Stakeholder Communication
Prepare and present clear, concise status reports and milestone summaries for studio leadership and relevant stakeholders
Represent production in cross-departmental and executive-level conversations, translating team-level detail into meaningful progress narrative
Manage expectations proactively, surfacing issues early and arriving with proposed solutions
Technical & Professional Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience in video game production, with at least 2 shipped Console or PC titles as a Producer or Senior Producer
At least one shipped title developed in Unreal Engine
Demonstrated ability to build a full development schedule from scratch, including milestone planning, sprint cadences, and resource mapping
Expert-level proficiency in Jira and Confluence
Exceptional prioritization and estimation skills, with a track record of managing scope and delivering on commitments
Solid understanding of game development disciplines (design, engineering, art, QA) and how they interact across the production pipeline
Able to use AI tools to maximize efficiency in all tasking while maintaining a realistic view of its capabilities and limitations
Must be based in Berlin and able to work on-site in our Kreuzberg office a minimum of 3 days per week
Communication
Professional fluency in English is required
German language skills are a strong plus
Soft Skills
Excellent communicator across technical and non-technical audiences, both written and verbal
Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence without authority
High degree of self-direction and personal accountability
Calm and solutions-oriented under pressure, with strong conflict resolution skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working at a mid-sized studio on commercially and critically successful PC or console titles
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and how to adapt them pragmatically to game development realities
Experience managing external partners, co-development relationships, or outsource pipelines
Knowledge of additional production tooling (Shotgrid, Hansoft, etc.)
