    We’re looking for an outstanding Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Munich, Germany.

    As the Quality Assurance Specialist at Westfalia Fruit, you will support the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance processes and ensure products and services meet established standards, ensuring alignment with agreed quality standards and characteristics as defined by both company and customer specifications, and documenting quality requirements. You will also be responsible for handling our internal and external complaints processes, working closely with our Quality Management and Procurement teams.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Ensure top product quality by independently inspecting incoming and outgoing goods for freshness, ripeness, size, and packaging condition.
    • Document inspection results in full compliance with internal guidelines, customer requirements, and food safety standards like HACCP, IFS, and BRC.
    • Report and communicate deviations promptly to Quality Management while coordinating closely with procurement, logistics, and suppliers.
    • Manage complaints and returns, including goods evaluation, root cause analysis (RCA), and implementation of corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
    • Prepare detailed return documentation with photo evidence and structured protocols to support transparency and accountability.
    • Oversee hygiene and pest control, ensuring effective cleaning, disinfection, and pest prevention across storage and production areas.
    • Monitor results of pesticide residues and microbiology, and take swift action in case of non-compliance.
    • Verify labels and packaging for legal, customer, and sustainability compliance—including declarations, certifications, and origin labels.
    • Maintain accurate quality records, including supplier documents, certificates, and product specifications for audits and internal systems.
    • Support data integrity, including traceability tracking and system migrations during internal transitions or quality projects.

    Requirements

    Experience we look for:

    Essential

    • Degree in food technology, quality management, agriculture, or a comparable field.
    • Professional experience in quality assurance, ideally in fresh produce, fruit & vegetables, or food production/logistics.
    • Solid knowledge of food law, traceability, labelling requirements, and relevant standards (IFS, HACCP, Organic).
    • Confident use of digital documentation and QA systems.
    • Independent, structured, and team-oriented working style.
    • Fluent in English and German (C1 level or above).

    Desirable

    • FMCG/Fresh Produce background
