Your mission
We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Technician to support the build, operation, and maintenance of our First-of-a-Kind (tFOAK) research facility and pilot systems. This role combines practical problem-solving with technical craftsmanship, ensuring both new prototypes and long-term infrastructure run reliably.
You’ll play a key role in assembling and operating pilot rigs, maintaining mechanical systems, and supporting daily operations of the tFOAK plant. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of climate-tech innovation, working closely with a team of engineers and project leads.
Key points
- Pilot & Equipment Build:
- Assemble, install, and commission pilot-scale mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, tanks, piping, valves).
- Support test rig setups and modifications based on engineering requirements.
- Maintenance & Operation:
- Operate and monitor the tFOAK plant during tests, research campaigns, and pilot runs.
- Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on infrastructure and pilot systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform repairs.
- Infrastructure Support:
- Maintain workshop tools, storage, and spare parts inventory.
- Support upgrades or expansions of the tFOAK research facility and mechanical infrastructure.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with mechanical and process engineers to ensure proper assembly and safe operation.
- Document maintenance activities, test setups, and operating procedures.
Your profile
Skills and Experience
- Completed apprenticeship or vocational training as a mechanical technician, industrial mechanic, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with pumps, piping systems, valves, and mechanical assemblies > 5 years.
- Basic knowledge of instrumentation (flow meters, pressure gauges) is a plus.
- Practical mindset with a strong ability to troubleshoot and fix mechanical issues.
- Experience with welding or basic fabrication is a plus.
