Your mission
Join Ucaneo in building and deploying our first full-scale Direct Air Capture (DAC) unit in Berlin. As part of our detailed engineering phase, you will take ownership of CAD and mechanical integration tasks, working closely with fabrication partners and internal engineering leads. Your mission: translate concepts into detailed, executable technical plans with a strong focus on piping, layout, and robust mechanical systems.
We're looking for someone hands-on who can not only design in CAD but also understands how things are built – ideally with experience in piping, installation, and welding techniques.
Key Points
- Own and drive detailed CAD design, especially piping layouts and mechanical integration
- Support the technical planning and execution of the tFOAK deployment at our Berlin site
- Apply mechanical engineering principles to specify and validate technical solutions in a pilot environment
- Translate system concepts into technical drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure mechanical feasibility and safety
- Support onsite integration, troubleshooting, and modifications during commissioning
- Utilize simulation tools (e.g., CFD, structural analysis) where relevant
- Work with internal and external stakeholders on component procurement and fabrication
- Coordinate weld-ready documentation and supervise construction/installation as needed
Your profile
Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineeringor similar (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
- 4+ years experience in engineering or deployment of industrial systems, ideally including piping
- Strong CAD skills (Onshape, SolidWorks, AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar)
- Practical knowledge in welding, piping supports, and mechanical installation
- Experience with pilot plant or industrial-scale projects preferred
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-moving, interdisciplinary team
- Bonus: experience with Piping, HVAC, pressure systems, or chemical plant design Workstyle and culture
