We are currently in search of a Head of Accounting to join Europe's Largest provider of veterinary care. With over 75 diverse vets in Germany and a presence spanning across the continent, this role presents a unique opportunity. Rather than being confined to a single veterinary clinic, you'll be part of the holding company's shared service centre, which has been recently established to manage accounting functions for the entire group. Backed by an affluent Private Equity house, this role offers substantial growth potential for ambitious candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the accounting team within the Shared Service Centre.
• Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop robust financial plans.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency within the Shared Service Centre.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Team Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including finance leadership, regional controllers, and business partners, to support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Proven experience in a senior accounting or finance role, ideally within a shared service environment or multinational corporation.
• Strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with international financial reporting standards (IFRS), and Accounting Standards for financial statements in German Business (HGB).
• DATEV & SAP
• Experience managing complex financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.
• Fluent German.
