  • As our first recruiter, you focus on finding the most suitable talent to join KAYA in a small but growing market with a strong demand for experts. You understand the environmental market, especially the space of conservation, landscape restoration, and the carbon market. You find creative ways to find, approach, and engage with potential candidates while creating a structured and well-maintained database. You represent KAYA with passion and professionalism, creating a well-respected employer brand. When not busy with recruiting, you support with administrative People & Culture tasks and serve as a sparring partner for strategic people-related topics along the employee tenure.

    Tasks

    • Candidate Sourcing: You create engaging job ads, and you employ creative sourcing methods to attract the best candidates for each role while creating and maintaining a pool of talented experts for potential future roles.
    • Candidate Outreach: You are responsible for reaching out to potential candidates and acting as their primary point of contact, you lead first interviews and act as a promoter for KAYA’s employer brand.
    • Candidate Screening: You evaluate all incoming applications based on their qualifications and our job requirements to determine their fit for each role.
    • Recruiting Process: You manage the overall recruiting process from screening candidates to organizing and leading first interviews and supporting with following interview rounds and their documentation, you manage the contract negotiations and ensure respectful communication with all candidates.
    • Onboarding: You support onboarding sessions to guarantee a smooth onboarding experience for new team members.
    • You support in general People & Culture topics where time allows, like administrative support, strategic planning, setting up or adjusting HR processes and structures.

    Requirements

    • Proven track record of at least two years as head hunter/recruiter including sourcing candidates through various channels like job boards, social media, and professional networks
    • Good knowledge of the space of conservation, landscape restoration, and the voluntary carbon market is a plus
    • Data management: Experience in managing candidate data, maintaining databases, and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations should be a given
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are vital for engaging with experts in the field and for communicating effectively with potential candidates, employees, and collaborators. Strong networking skills will be necessary. Portuguese is a plus.
    • Technology: Proficiency in using various tools and platforms, such as Recruiting software, Community platforms, and social media management tools, will enhance the efficiency of the recruitment process.
    • Ability to handle several open positions at once while maintaining strong attention to detail
    • The ability to adjust to the dynamic and fast-moving environment of a growing start-up
