Your Mission
As a Senior Compliance Specialist, you will play a central role in upholding and enforcing a high-standard regulatory compliance culture across the organisation. You will ensure that the company adheres to all applicable obligations under German and EU laws and regulations, with a particular focus on MiCAR, as well as relevant German frameworks and other supervisory requirements.
This includes supporting a strong second line of defence, operating independently from operational functions, and acting as a key point of contact for regulatory compliance and governance matters as well as performing controls according to the compliance control plan.
Your position is critical in ensuring that internal practices, policies, and controls not only meet but exceed regulatory expectations, supporting Bitpanda’s sustainable growth and reputation as a trusted operator in the crypto-asset and financial services space.
What you’ll do
- Compliance Framework & Oversight: Support the effectuation of a robust compliance monitoring programme aligned with MiCAR requirements and broader EU and national regulatory expectations.
- Regulatory & Governance Management: Act as a key contact for regulatory topics, ensuring accurate submissions, timely reporting, and continuous monitoring of relevant regulatory developments, with a strong focus on MiCAR and crypto-asset regulations.
- Monitoring, Breach & Risk Management: Identify and escalate compliance breaches, support corrective actions, and contribute to ongoing compliance risk assessments.
- Policy, Reporting & Training: Draft and maintain compliance policies, contribute to management and Board reporting on compliance risks, and support training initiatives to embed regulatory awareness across teams.
- Ethics & Culture: Promote integrity, transparency, and accountability, fostering a strong culture of ethical compliance throughout the organisation.
Who you are
- Qualified & Experienced: Degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience in compliance within financial services, fintech, or crypto sectors.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Good understanding of MiCAR, EU regulatory frameworks, and crypto-asset compliance requirements is a strong plus.
- Independent & Reliable: Able to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and support senior stakeholders with well-founded compliance input.
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Strong analytical and documentation skills with high attention to detail.
- Clear Communicator: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory topics clearly while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
- Fluent in German and English
