Bifrost Defence is a Copenhagen-based defence technology company building dual-use products for NATO allies and partner nations. Our portfolio includes 8 ventures at various stages, from Thor's Haven, which builds stabilization infrastructure already deployed with the Ukrainian armed forces, to Lightmark, developing light-based authentication technology for content verification. The company operates within the Bifrost Studios venture ecosystem.
We're hiring a Strategy & Investment Manager to own studio-level strategy and capital raising across Bifrost Defence and its portfolio companies. You'll develop the strategic roadmap, produce investor-grade materials, run fundraise processes, and represent Bifrost to institutional investors, government stakeholders, and defence industry partners. This is a hands-on operating role for someone who can think at the board level and still send the follow-up email.
Tasks
- Develop and maintain the studio's strategic roadmap: portfolio construction, thesis refinement, market positioning, and venture maturity frameworks.
- Produce investor-grade strategy materials, financial models, and board-ready analyses that drive decision-making across the portfolio.
- Build and run fundraise processes from first outreach to close, both at the fund level and for portfolio ventures raising seed and Series A rounds.
- Represent Bifrost Defence to LPs, institutional investors, government stakeholders, and defence industry partners. Not preparing materials for someone else to present, but owning the room.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships that accelerate the studio's positioning in European defence.
- Manage ongoing investor relationships, prepare reporting and updates, and maintain data rooms.
Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of experience, with at least 2 in a high-calibre environment: MBB consulting, a top venture or PE fund, or a strong startup operating role.
- Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems, build executive-ready deliverables, and present to senior audiences.
- Exposure to capital raising: direct involvement in a fundraise process, or working within a fund or LP environment where you understood how capital decisions get made.
- Comfortable translating between strategic vision and operational execution: roadmaps, models, investor narratives, board materials.
- Autonomous and decisive. You make calls with imperfect information and don't wait to be told what to do.
- Fluent in English. German and/or a Scandinavian language is a plus.
- Defence, aerospace, or dual-use technology exposure is a plus, but learnable. It should not stop you from applying.
Benefits
- A founding-team-level role at a defence venture studio shaping strategy across 8 portfolio ventures.
- Direct exposure to institutional investors, government stakeholders, and defence industry leadership across Europe.
- Equity participation (structure discussed in process).
- Work that matters: building the infrastructure that keeps Europe safe and sovereign.
- Hard but rewarding work with a mission-driven team and experienced entrepreneurs.
Process
1. Initial conversation to explore fit and background.
2. Interview focused on strategic thinking, analytical approach, and working with senior stakeholders.
3. Case assessment: a concrete strategy or investor-facing problem relevant to defence venture operations.
4. Final interview with founders and offer.
