As an experienced IoT Solutions Architect, you will take on a lead position and execute the technical direction and implementation of our IoT solutions. Following the principle of “you build it, you run it,” you will be at the forefront of ensuring our IoT infrastructure is robust, scalable, and secure.

Tasks

Oversee the complete IoT solution lifecycle, from machine connectivity and gateway software to data collection and processing.
Design and implement highly available and scalable (event-driven) cloud architectures in the IoT context. Ensure robust, scalable, and secure cloud architecture adhering to best practices.
Design and implement IoT solutions using industrial communication protocols like Modbus, Siemens S7, MQTT, and OPCUA.
Manage IoT gateways, ensuring proper setup, configuration, and management.
Architect and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, utilizing services such as AWS IoT Core and AWS Lambda.
Handle database management for both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) systems.

Requirements

Cloud Infrastructure: Expertise in AWS services, including IoT Core and Lambda.
Data Collection and Processing: Experience with data collection from IoT devices, data ingestion pipelines, and real-time data processing.
IoT Gateway and Device Management: Hands-on experience with IoT gateways, including setup, configuration, and management.
Programming and Scripting: Strong Python programming skills and proficiency in Bash.
Database Management: Knowledge of database systems, both SQL and NoSQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
DevOps and Automation: Containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (AWS ECS / Kubernetes).
Infrastructure-as-Code: Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Project Management: Strong skills to oversee IoT solution implementations and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Communication: Excellent German and/or English skills to articulate complex technical concepts to various stakeholders, including non-technical clients.
