We are looking for a highly experienced and communicative Lead Agile IT Transformation Expert (Freelance) to support the Project and Portfolio Management leadership team of our customer in driving a company-wide agile transformation during an ongoig Carve-out. The role combines strategic responsibility, coaching, and organizational development to prepare the IT organization for its role as a true business co-creator.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in agile IT transformation at scale, portfolio management, and IT organization development, combined with excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Tasks
- Partner with customers IT leadership in designing and evolving the Target Operating Model for IT as a business co-creator
- Support the development of portfolio management processes (strategic workshops, analysis, maturity assessments, etc.)
- Prepare and facilitate quarterly organizational development meetings with IT management to define new processes, models, and roadmaps
- Guide and mentor Department Agile Coaches, ensuring consistency and quality across departments
- Provide strategic input on process and model development, approvals, and implementation approaches
- Act as a communication and alignment bridge between management, department leadership, and agile coaches
- Ensure sustainable adoption of agile practices, tools (Jira, Confluence), and mindset shifts across departments
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in agile IT transformation projects
- Strong background in IT portfolio management and organizational development
- Proven ability to guide and mentor senior agile coaches and department leaders
- Strong facilitation skills for management-level workshops and strategic alignment sessions
- Excellent communication, empathy, and leadership skills
- Experience with scaled agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, or similar) desirable
