    (SENIOR) EXPERT SOFTWARE SOURCING & VALUE CREATION

    Start date flexible, permanent position, during the week project-related at our clients’ sites, and typically on Fridays in our offices in Munich, Cologne, or Hamburg


    Your mission

    • In this role, you analyze our clients’ existing software spend, license inventories, and contract structures, deriving concrete savings potential
    • You prepare complex new procurements and contract renewals with enterprise software and SaaS providers such as SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, Adobe, ServiceNow, or comparable vendors
    • Together with IT, business departments, and program leads, you critically challenge requirements, user groups, license types, modules, add-ons, roll-out plans, and growth assumptions
    • A key part of your work is developing target volumes, licensing and contract models, as well as negotiation strategies for renewals and new procurements
    • You assess license metrics, entitlements, usage rights, edition logic, and contractual mechanisms such as minimum commitments, price increases, true-ups, audit rights, termination periods, and contract terms
    • Working closely with our procurement experts, you translate business and technical requirements into commercially sound sourcing decisions
    • You prepare workshops, lead discussions with clients, and structure decision-making for IT, business departments, procurement, and management
    • Your work also includes supporting the implementation of measures such as downsizing, reharvesting, cleaning up unused licenses, adjusting license editions, or avoiding unnecessary commitments
    • Beyond client work, you further develop our expertise in Software Sourcing & Commercial Value and actively share your knowledge with colleagues

    Your profile

    • A completed degree, ideally in business informatics, business administration, computer science, industrial engineering, or a comparable field
    • At least five years of professional experience in software procurement, IT vendor management, software asset management, license consulting, IT sourcing, IT commercial management, or a comparable environment
    • Practical experience with enterprise software and SaaS contracts, particularly in renewals, new procurements, contract optimization, or license clean-up
    • A solid understanding of license metrics, subscriptions, entitlements, usage rights, edition and pricing models, as well as typical contractual clauses
    • Concrete project experience with at least two major vendor ecosystems such as SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, Adobe, or ServiceNow
    • The ability to critically question requirements and specifications without losing sight of the underlying business needs
    • Experience in preparing and conducting commercial negotiations, as well as developing robust negotiation strategies
    • Experience in leading workshops, structuring complex issues, and collaborating with different stakeholder groups
    • Consulting experience is welcome. If you come from an in-house role, you ideally bring experience from cross-functional projects and complex decision-making situations
    • Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
    • An analytical, structured, and independent way of working, combined with a strong sense for people and situations
    • The willingness to take ownership, drive your own topics forward, and implement them effectively at our clients
