We are looking for a Senior Product Manager (m/f/x) to join our motivated team in Berlin. The new team member will become a key player at UP42 by taking ownership of our Search and Catalog capabilities. In this role, you will lead the strategic development and innovation of these vital geospatial functions. As the functional leader of a diverse and high-performing team, your impact will directly shape our platform's success.
What you will do:
Drive the vision, strategy, and execution for UP42’s Catalog and Search capabilities, ensuring users can easily discover, evaluate, and order geospatial data.
Own the full product lifecycle from discovery to launch, collaborating with Product Design, Engineering, and Documentation to ensure successful delivery and adoption.
Optimize catalog search, filtering, and ordering workflows, simplifying steps, reducing friction, and improving data-selection guidance.
Establish continuous customer feedback loops to understand catalog usage, search behaviors, and failure points.
Communicate product updates proactively to internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment across commercial and technical teams.
Conduct market research and develop AI-driven PoCs (e.g., relevance models, recommendations) to enhance catalog usability and platform adoption.
Lead the search and catalog domain across web, SDK, and API interfaces, guiding teams to build a scalable, intuitive discovery experience.
Ensure provider archive data is properly ingested, structured, and enriched to power downstream analytics on coverage, availability, and competitiveness.
Define and track key Catalog KPIs, including discoverability, search success, order conversion, and supplier performance, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
Here is a good summary of what we are looking for:
Demonstrated leadership and strategic vision as a (Senior) Product Manager, ideally in data cataloging, data discovery, search platforms, or similar data-focused product domains
Strong understanding of customer needs related to (geospatial) data discovery, selection, and ordering, and drive to stay current with catalog/search best practices, industry trends, and the competitive landscape
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with experience working in agile environments - driving alignment, refining processes, and enabling teams to deliver effectively
Experience defining strategies for data catalog structure, metadata quality, and search capabilities, aligning these with customer and partner needs
Proven track record of managing the full product lifecycle, with emphasis on usability, discoverability, and platform scalability
Technical proficiency with hands-on experience in APIs, SDKs, metadata structures, and data indexing technologies
Full business English proficiency
Bonus points if you bring:
Experience with geospatial technologies, remote sensing, or large-scale data platforms is a strong plus, but not a strict requirement.
