    Tasks

    The Finance team is at the heart of SQUAKE’s financial & strategic decisions and our cross-functional work helps shape the priority within and direction of the company. We are responsible for both, day to day accounting topics (e.g. invoice management, tax & compliance management, expense management, month-end closing) and controlling / reporting topics (e.g. PnL & investor reporting, cash flow management, BI dashboards, KPI monitoring). We help put meaning behind the numbers.

    YOUR ROLE

    • Drive the reporting and BI landscape within the company - collaborate with business & tech stakeholders to build BI frameworks and user-friendly dashboards
    • Define & monitor financial metrics and KPIs to track performance against goals
    • Manage invoicing related processes - both receivables and payables, handle month-end closing processes and regularly liaise with our tax accountant
    • Deliver process optimization & automation of finance related processes
    • Become a vital building block of an efficient & high performance Finance team

    Requirements

    • You possess excellent analytical skills and can easily communicate complex financial information
    • You have a very strong attention to detail and work through problems methodically
    • You thrive on ownership, are goal-oriented, and ready for both creative and mundane tasks
    • You are comfortable with numbers and commonly used BI tools & scripts e.g. Excel / Google Sheets / Tableau / SQL. Prior experience with financial modelling & Python is a big plus.
    • You have at least one prior experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, controlling, or fast-paced environments such as venture capital, startups or equivalent
    • You have a Bachelor's degree from a top tier university in a finance or data focused discipline (Masters is a plus)
    • Located in Berlin is a plus
    • You speak English fluently and can handle at least some German
    • You are available for a 6 month internship
    • You are interested in sustainability and want to be associated with climate action
