Backend Engineer

Tasks

As a Backend Engineer, you'll work directly with our CTO, David, to develop robust systems and user interfaces driving our business forward.

• Collaborate closely with our CTO and cross-functional team to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems that are reliable, scalable, and secure
• Take ownership of projects from conception to deployment, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery
• Continuously innovate and optimize our backend infrastructure to meet evolving business needs and technological advancements

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with JVM-based languages such as Kotlin and/or Java, preferably with Spring Boot expertise
• Solid understanding of designing complex architectures and hands-on experience with microservices and cloud architectures
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability, excellent communication skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Fluency in English; knowledge of German is advantageous but not mandatory

What’s a Plus:

• Experience working in a B2B SaaS and/or Startup environment
• DevOps experience with tools such as Docker, AWS and Terraform
• Familiarity with prompt engineering and vector databases
