    As a Software Integration Engineer at SPI, you will play a crucial role in integrating hardware and software systems within the RAVE In-flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) System. Your responsibilities will include integrating and testing existing software products and modules with external software. Working across diverse products, modules, and applications, you'll develop a comprehensive understanding of the software and hardware modules involved in the full system. Collaborating closely with Software, Test, and Systems Teams, you'll contribute to ensuring the highest standards of system performance and reliability.

    Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Perform software integration work on hardware platforms
    • Perform System, Software, Hardware & Networking Integration and Interoperability Tests
    • Integrate and test 3rd party software components into existing products
    • Perform system performance and reliability tests to meet standards and requirements
    • Document integration procedures and report integration results
    • Establish and update system and software specifications, as well as interface control documents
    • Troubleshoot and report defects on software components and products
    • Continuously contribute to improved integration processes for enhanced efficiency

    Requirements

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, electrical engineering, physics, or a comparable study program
    • A very good hands-on working knowledge of Linux
    • Knowledge in programming languages, e.g. C/C++
    • Knowledge of scripting languages, e.g. Python, Bash
    • Experience with virtualization and containers
    • Proven experience in integration and/or testing of embedded systems
    • Good TCP/IP networking skills (routing, switching, firewall, network services, troubleshooting)
    • Experience in Aviation and Aviation standards like DO-178 is advantageous

    • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
    • Proactive, organized, and a dedicated team player
    • Strong analytic skills and attention to detail
    • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to find quick and effective workarounds
    • Dedication to ongoing self-improvement through continuous learning and training, staying informed about industry trends, and embracing new technologies
