We are a boutique recruitment agency supporting fast‑growing tech companies. Currently we are supporting our partner, a fast‑growing B2B SaaS company in the automotive industry (Berlin/Hamburg).
We are now looking for a Backend Engineer to strengthen their core engineering team in Berlin or Hamburg. In this role, you’ll build scalable backend services, integrate external data sources and develop intelligent search and data processing capabilities that power next‑generation automotive solutions.
Requirements
Develop and maintain robust backend services and REST APIs using technologies such as Nest.js
Design and implement efficient full‑text search, semantic search, and hybrid search algorithms
Work with embedding models and integrate structured/unstructured data into search pipelines
Build reliable interfaces to external APIs and third‑party systems
Analyse complex datasets using advanced statistical and machine learning methods
Continuously improve data mining and data modelling techniques to increase accuracy, latency, and throughput
Collaborate closely with product, engineering and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
Contribute to DevOps practices and help maintain a stable, high‑performing architecture
Work in a modern Agile/Scrum team while balancing independent work and ownership
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
Strong backend engineering experience, ideally in a SaaS or data‑intensive environment
Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, and SQL
Experience with Nest.js, REST API design, and backend architecture
Strong understanding of embeddings, semantic search, and search algorithm optimization
Familiarity with DevOps concepts and cloud‑based environments
Hands-on experience with databases such as Postgres and MongoDB
Experience working with large, complex datasets and modern data management principles
Germany /Spain / Romania (Remote)
