  • Still maintaining yesterday’s architecture?

Or building features nobody remembers two sprints later?

How about shaping a platform that helps workshops across Europe work with complex technical data — and using AI to solve problems that are actually hard.

At RepGuide, we’re building the digital backbone for the agricultural and construction equipment industry. Our platform structures and delivers highly heterogeneous technical data from multiple manufacturers — across languages, markets and environments.

RepGuide is a product of the FRICKE Group, one of Europe’s leading spare part distributors in agricultural and construction technology. That means real users, real scale, real complexity — with the speed and ownership of a focused product team.

RepGuide is part of our FRI:X Innovation Lab. Thus we’re currently pushing strongly into AI:

    • Using AI tools to improve our development lifecycle (coding, reviews, automation)
    • Exploring AI-driven approaches to structure and standardize complex industrial data
    • Actively experimenting — not just talking about it

For our tech team in Hamburg, we’re looking for a Backend Engineer who wants to take responsibility for major parts of our TypeScript-based platform and help us move fast without breaking things that matter.

Small team. Senior mindset. Visible impact.

    Tasks

You won’t just implement endpoints. You’ll shape core parts of the platform.

    Your responsibilities include:

    • Owning and evolving key parts of our TypeScript-based backend architecture
    • Designing and refining our GraphQL APIs (schema design, performance, authentication, data modeling)
    • Integrating external and internal systems (REST and other interfaces)
    • Building services and automations that help us manage and transform complex data
    • Contributing to AI-assisted approaches for data structuring and internal tooling
    • Ensuring maintainability through clean architecture, testing, documentation and best practices
    • Balancing rapid feature delivery with platform stability in a small, highly collaborative team

    Our Tech Stack

RepGuide is a multi-language, multi-environment platform built to manage complex, heterogeneous technical datasets.

Under the hood, we work with:

    • TypeScript, GraphQL and Drizzle ORM across backend services
    • Svelte / SvelteKit in the frontend
    • Serverless Functions (Cloudflare Workers) for automations
    • Elasticsearch for search
    • GitHub & GitHub Actions (CI)

    Requirements

We care less about formal titles and more about how you think and build.

You might be a great fit if you:

    • Have solid backend experience with TypeScript
    • Understand API design (GraphQL and/or REST) beyond just “making it work”
    • Care about clean code, architecture and long-term maintainability
    • Are curious about using AI meaningfully in both development workflows and product features
    • Take ownership instead of waiting for instructions
    • Enjoy balancing “shipping fast” with “building it right”
    • Like working in small teams where responsibility is shared — not delegated away

    Bonus (not mandatory):

    • Experience in platform or multi-tenant or international systems
    • Curiosity for complex data structures
    • Hands-on experimentation with AI tools in software development
    • Experience with Elasticsearch

    Benefits

    • A focused AgTech product with European scale and complex technical challenges
    • The stability of the FRICKE Group combined with startup-level ownership
    • A senior-driven, highly collaborative tech team in Hamburg
    • Participation in our internal FRICKE Tech Day (twice a year), where multiple tech teams of the Group share insights on topics like AI, automation and platform engineering
    • 30 days of vacation
    • Holiday and Christmas bonus
    • Flexible working hours
    • Modern office in Hamburg (5 minute walk from main station)
    • The option to work from home regularly — but we also value real collaboration on-site
    • Hardware of your choice
    • Employee discounts & team events
    • Capital-forming benefits (Vermögenswirksame Leistungen)

If you’re looking for a place where you can own real backend responsibility — not just close tickets — we’d love to hear from you.
