Remote Test / Performance Engineer

We are on the lookout for a dedicated Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure that our database engine's integrity and performance are never compromised.

ABOUT YOUR POSITION

You will be part of the Rust Team and will report directly to our CTO, Andrey Vasnetsov.

Tasks

ABOUT YOUR ROLE&RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Database Engine Testing
-Work closely with the development team to understand new features and updates.
-Create and maintain CI pipelines for continous testing and performance monitoring.
-Detect, report, and track software defects and inconsistencies.
-Prioritize critical issues and ensure they are addressed before product releases.

Performance Benchmarks
-Develop and execute performance benchmarks to test the database's scalability, speed, and robustness.
-Collaborate with the development team to understand performance metrics and ensure they meet set standards.
-Monitor system performance post-release to ensure consistent functionality.

Enterprise Solutions Testing:
-Evaluate the compatibility, reliability, and performance of Qdrant on various cloud platforms.
-Simulate real-world scenarios to test the database's response in cloud environments.
-Identify potential security vulnerabilities or pitfalls associated with cloud deployments.

Automation:
-Identify areas for test automation and help in building those capabilities.
-Maintain and enhance existing test automation frameworks.
Ensure automated tests are integrated into the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) process.

Collaboration:
-Work in tandem with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication regarding product requirements, features, and potential issues.
-Offer insights and suggestions to improve product quality, user experience, and performance metrics.

• You have strong solving problem skills to resolve challenges independently and effectively.
• You have a structured approach to work and have high attention to detail.
• You have excellent communication skills in English and are a good team player.

ABOUT YOUR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

• You offer proven experience in software quality assurance.
• You have practical experience in the python and bash environment, rust and graphana are optional.
• You are familiar with different databases, concepts, and related technologies.
• You have strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• You have experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
• You have hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
• You writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
