Position Overview:
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems that power our vector database solutions. You will work with a team of skilled engineers to ensure our systems are robust, scalable, and performant. This role requires proficiency in Go and Python, deep knowledge of Kubernetes operators and operator frameworks, and a strong understanding of distributed systems. You will also participate in on-call rotations to ensure the reliability and availability of our services.

Tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Go and Python.
• Build and manage Kubernetes operators to automate the deployment and operation of our services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high code quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development, test, and production environments.
• Participate in on-call rotations and handle incident management to ensure service reliability.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Go and Python: Strong experience in developing backend services with Go and Python.
• Kubernetes Expertise: Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, operators, and operator frameworks (e.g., Operator SDK).
• Experience: 3-4+ years of experience in writing and maintaining Kubernetes operators.
• Distributed Systems: Solid understanding of distributed systems principles, including consistency, availability, partition tolerance (CAP theorem), sharding, replication, and consensus algorithms (e.g., Raft, Paxos).
• On-call Experience: Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and experience in handling high-pressure incidents.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to addressing complex technical challenges.
• Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
