  • At Phantasma Labs, we’re building smart software that helps factories plan better. Our AI co-pilot helps factories plan and schedule production more efficiently, adapt to changes faster, and make the most of available resources – without needing tons of data or complicated tools. Instead of relying on massive historical datasets, our models are trained in simulated factory environments using reinforcement learning, which helps us find better solutions much faster than traditional systems. We work with manufacturers across Europe and the US and team up with ERP and MES providers to bring our solution directly into real production workflows. We’re based in Berlin, but remote-first, so you don’t have to be here to join us. We’re a lean, international team with big ambitions, building what we believe is one of the most advanced production scheduling tools in the world.

    Tasks

As a Software Engineer at Phantasma, you’ll support key activities to build, run and improve our AI-driven production planning software and connect it to customer environments:

    • Develop production-ready backend code in Rust
    • Develop unit tests and integration tests to keep quality high as we ship fast
    • Debug and resolve issues in staging and production
    • Interface with customer systems (ERP/MES and surrounding tools)
    • Convert and map structured and semi-structured customer data into our internal formats
    • Join customer calls, gather requirements, and translate them into robust implementations
    • Contribute to API design and overall system architecture
    • Build and maintain frontend features in React / TypeScript
    • Deploy and operate services on Kubernetes cloud infrastructure
    • Support MLOps workflows in partnership with the ML team

You’ll be part of our backend team and contribute directly to delivering and maintaining our software in real factory environments: turning customer requirements into production-ready features, shipping reliably, and keeping systems stable across staging and production. It’s a hands-on role with real ownership from day one. Your ideas will be heard, and implemented if they improve the product.

    • Experience building frontends, ideally using React
    • DevOps experience (e.g. Kubernetes, Ansible)
    • Experience with joining calls and interacting with customers
    • Experience in manufacturing environments or industrial software

    Benefits

    • Ownership from day 1: small team, fast feedback, visible results
    • Collaborate with a strong team: work alongside highly skilled, experienced software engineers building production-grade systems, and ML specialists working on cutting-edge AI optimization
    • A supportive, open culture: clear communication, strong collaboration and flat hierarchies
    • Flexible working hours & hybrid setup: work remotely or from our Co-working space in Berlin Mitte – whatever helps you do your best work
    • A company laptop to support your work
