    ABOUT THE TEAM:

    The Documentation team supports the development teams, who rely on the Agile method to deliver the highest level of software and documentation quality.

    As a technical writer at Talon.One, you  will report to the team lead and work closely with the other team members. The documentation being a very cross-functional project, you will have daily interactions with product owners, developers and technical account managers. You will also have the opportunity to learn technical skills and improve your technical writing skills.

    Your main mission will be to contribute and help maintain the end-user and developer/API documentation. You will write brand new content to keep up with the evolution of the product and revamp existing content to make it more efficient and cheaper to maintain. You will also have the ability to shape how we manage the documentation in the company. 

    Most of our team in located in Berlin, but we are open to remote candidates located in time zones 1 hour behind or ahead of Berlin.

     

    YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with various teams to document new product features as they are released and address product documentation gaps.
    • Review content created by other technical writers and have your content reviewed by them.
    • Provide support to the UX/frontend team with UX writing.
    • Write API documentation (language: OAS) and developer documentation (tool: MDX/docusaurus).

     

    YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Founded experience in writing customer-facing documentation.
    • Pedagogy is your thing. You are naturally good at explaining things. 
    • You are a self-learner, you like to test things for yourself.
    • You are empathetic and you can easily anticipate customers' questions when you test a feature.
    • Your English is excellent and you know how to write for international audiences.
    • You have excellent interpersonal skills and a keen eye for detail.
    • You have a solid understanding of the concepts used in technical writing such as minimalism, topic-oriented writing and user-centric thinking.
    • Ideally, you have some experience with the docs-as-code approach and some degree of technical skills such as using GitHub or the command line.
    • We are particularly interested if you have a background in computer science.
