What will you do?
As a Proposal Manager (m/f/d), you are responsible for preparing and coordinating high-quality technical proposals for our thermal energy storage solutions. You work closely with our Sales, Engineering, and Sourcing teams, as well as with external partners, to ensure that our customers receive a technically sound, economically viable, and strategically aligned offer – delivered on time and tailored to their needs.
Tasks
- Analyze customer specifications and tender documents.
- Take ownership of the preparation and submission of technical proposals, coordinating all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and validate technical concepts in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Coordinate and review cost estimations with procurement, partners, and internal functions.
- Present solutions to customers, incorporate feedback, and refine the proposal accordingly.
- Support the sales team with technical expertise throughout the entire sales process.
- Participate in contract negotiations together with the Sales Manager.
- Ensure a clear and structured project handover to the execution team after contract award.
- Integrate lessons learned from past projects and proposals into future offerings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our products and services.
- Support sales reporting and planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, safety guidelines, and confidentiality rules.
Requirements
- University degree in engineering (e.g., mechanical, process, electrical); a business-related background is a plus.
- Several years of experience (ideally >5 years) in similar roles such as project management, proposal management, product management, or construction management.
- Solid technical understanding of thermodynamic systems, industrial process integration, or system engineering.
- Experience with consortium projects, EPC tenders, or public procurement is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office or Google Workspace; knowledge of project planning tools (e.g., MS Project) or programming (e.g., VBA) is an advantage.
- Fluent in English and German; additional languages (e.g., French) are a plus.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders.
