    As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and scaling backend systems, APIs, and services that power a cutting-edge platform for product integrations. You will work closely with developers, customers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, reliable, and developer-friendly solutions. This role involves full ownership of backend architecture, optimizing performance at scale, and contributing to open-source initiatives. You will influence the technical roadmap, guide engineering best practices, and directly shape the developer experience. The position is remote, offering flexibility while collaborating with an ambitious, globally distributed team. Your work will impact thousands of developers and fast-growing companies leveraging integrations to connect tools and AI-driven workflows.

    Accountabilities:

    • Design, develop, and scale backend services, APIs, and runtime systems.
    • Build developer interfaces, SDKs, and tools that enhance developer experience.
    • Collaborate with customers to understand and solve integration challenges.
    • Optimize backend performance, reliability, and scalability.
    • Contribute to open-source repositories and engage with the developer community.
    • Shape the technical roadmap and strategic decisions across the platform.
    • Mentor teammates and support incident response when necessary.

    Requirements

    • 10+ years of backend engineering experience with high-traffic systems.
    • Strong expertise in developer infrastructure, APIs, databases, and performance-critical applications.
    • Proficient in Node.js and modern backend technology stacks.
    • Deep understanding of developer experience (DX) and product-focused engineering.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work proactively in a remote-first environment.
    • Ownership-driven mindset, able to navigate ambiguity, and contribute effectively in a startup setting.
    • Pragmatic, collaborative, and positive approach to problem-solving and team support.
