Commerz Globalpay GmbH is a newly formed joint venture between Global Payments and Commerz Bank to provide a comprehensive suite of innovative omnichannel payment and software solutions at scale, providing a one-stop-shop for merchants to run and grow their businesses more efficiently.
The joint venture unites two strong brands. Global Payments brings commerce enablement solutions and distinctive payment offerings, while Commerzbank brings the knowledge and customer relationships within the German small and medium size merchant market.
Commerz Globalpay GmbH will offer digital payment capabilities, including Global Payments, smartphone-based payment applications that enable merchants to accept mobile payments without a separate card reader, modern card terminals and e-commerce/mobile payment solutions, all integrated to deliver seamless omnichannel experiences.
Further, business customers will have access to a variety of leading value-added services, including cloud-based point-of-sale software, customer loyalty programs, an analytics and customer engagement platform, and more.
We are seeking an HR Manager in Germany supporting Commerz Globalpay and other business units based in Cologne and Frankfurt. There is much to be done in this critical role from basic HR operations needs to strategic talent support. We are seeking an HR professional who has strong all round experience that can support the continued talent build of the JV, provide direct support to the GM and senior leadership team, ensure Germany participates in HR transformation and adoption of our OneGP philosophy.
This role will touch all parts of the employee life cycle and is a hands-on role.
With 1 Direct reports, this role will be responsible for the day to day HR function with the support of regional and global HR centres of excellence. You will partner with senior leadership and ensure the successful implementation of HR strategies aligned with both local and global business objectives.
This role is responsible for overseeing all HR operations in Germany, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and organizational development.
● Drive the development of the HR function in Germany, ensuring transfer of knowledge and alignment with global HR policies and local market needs.
● Support the entity in continuous growth, appr. new 30-40 Headcounts yearly till 2028
● Close collaboration with the CEO and C-Level and consult them in any HR-related matters
● Lead and mentor the HR team in Germany, promoting a collaborative culture.
● Partner with senior leaders to support organizational goals, workforce planning, and changemanagement initiatives.
● Collaboration with external recruitment agencies and our labor law agency
● Oversee strategies to attract top talent and support managers in identifying and developing key talent. Undertaking talent reviews, focussing on succession planning and development.
● Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with German labor laws and regulations.
● Act as the point of contact for employee relations matters.
● Drive performance management processes, employee development programs, and
succession planning.
● Provision of appropriate support to Line Managers in the management of poor performers.
● Delivery of change programmes driven by business needs.
● Maintain a positive relationship with the Works Council
● Ensuring the monthly payroll processing
● Travel regularly between both locations (Cologne and Frankfurt) to guarantee an unified HR Landscape: appr. 1-2- days bi-weekly
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
● 8–10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in HR Management
● In-depth knowledge of German labor laws, employment practices and HR trends.
● Experienced in Learning & Development (OKR), Recruiting and Change Management
● Fluent in both German and English (written and verbal).
● Experienced working in a US corporate headquartered and matrixed organization.
● Experienced building strong working relationships with works councils.
● Experienced dealing with Workday (HRIS)
● Very good organization, time management and implementation skills
● Familiar in working in a fast paced environment
● Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
