    • Our client is an early-stage EdTech startup based in Sydney, founded by international entrepreneurs. The company is developing innovative learning technology for children, combining hardware, software, and AI to create a safe, engaging, and purpose-built educational environment.
    • After successfully validating their concept through an initial pilot, the business is now entering its next growth phase and preparing for a market launch in 2026. Their mission is to build technology that supports children’s learning and wellbeing in a meaningful and responsible way.
    • NOTE: The client is open to international full-time interns undertaking a 6-month internship in Sydney as part of their university requirements, as well as local Sydney-based candidates available for part-time arrangements.

    About the Role

    • Our client is seeking a Full-Stack Engineering Intern (Founding Intern) to work closely with the technical lead and founders on building the core product from the ground up.
    • This is a highly hands-on role where you will contribute across backend, frontend, and AI-related systems. You will be involved in technical architecture, product development, and platform scalability while gaining real startup experience in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the development and scaling of backend infrastructure, including databases, storage, and cloud functions
    • Design and maintain APIs connecting applications, dashboards, and AI systems
    • Develop and improve web-based dashboards using modern frontend frameworks
    • Assist with migrating web-based applications into modular or hybrid apps
    • Integrate AI voice and speech technologies into the platform
    • Build and maintain data pipelines between devices and cloud systems
    • Collaborate closely with the technical lead on architecture, strategy, and implementation
    • Support platform readiness for future launch, updates, and scaling

    • Internship duration: 3 to 6 months
    • Start date: ASAP or early February 2026
    • Location: Sydney, Australia
    • Working arrangement:
      • International interns: full-time
      • Local candidates: part-time, typically around 3 days per week
    • Monthly allowance provided to support living expenses

    Requirements

    About You

    • Currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
    • Hands-on experience building software products, gained through university projects, internships, or personal projects
    • Strong foundation in JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks
    • Basic knowledge of backend development and APIs, Python or similar frameworks is a plus
    • Comfortable working with databases, data flows, and technical documentation
    • Strong interest in AI, emerging technologies, and product development
    • Proactive, adaptable, and motivated to contribute in an early-stage startup environment
    • Good communication skills and comfortable working in a multicultural team
