About this role:

We are looking for a German-speaking News Editor in Berlin or remotely to help our mydealz Magazine team drive our daily news content strategy contributing significantly to growth on Google Discover.

Manage and edit daily news content.
Identify relevant, engaging stories.
Strategically manage article schedules.
Stay abreast of AI, industry trends and competitor strategies.
Collaborate with Marketing and Editorial teams.

Responsibilities:

Lead the curation and editing of daily news content, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Identify relevant stories that align with our readers' interests and our brand's style.
Set up strategies to ensure brand tone consistency across all content.
Design content following SEO best practices, journalistic ethics, and company guidelines.
Organize the publishing schedule, strategically planning for optimal audience engagement.
Research industry trends, competitor strategies, and relevant events to shape our content strategy.

Display a strong affinity for online shopping, a high degree of internet savviness, and a significant interest in finding ways to save money.
Display a deep interest in the subjects of electronics, gaming, and the broader tech market.

Your Profile:

Experience: Considerable professional experience as a News Editor with a proven track record in the journalistic field, ideally within the gaming or technology sector.
Language: Excellent in German at the native level with fluent written and verbal command of English.
Technical Skills: Proficient in SEO best practices and tools, such as Google Search Console or Ahrefs, and comfortable with CMS systems.
AI Knowledge: Basic understanding of AI and its application in content creation and management, with an interest in keeping up-to-date with its evolving role in the digital journalism landscape.
Communication Skills: Proficient interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Expectation: Displaying a high degree of initiative and reliability, resilience in high-pressure situations.
