About this role:
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Director of Software Engineering to lead and empower our talented team of Engineering Managers. You will oversee the people and systems that power our fast-growing business and continuously improve our engineering practices. Above all, your work will contribute towards creating a more attractive, helpful and fashionable community for everyone!
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor 5-10 Engineering Managers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize and streamline processes
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of learning and development
- Oversee the recruitment, on boarding, and performance management of engineering team members
- Work with product and design partners to identify the business areas where your teams can add value, and drive the team to deliver success in these areas
- Provide valuable and timely feedback to your team, and manage their performance
- Help provide and optimize tools, processes, and CI/CD pipelines to make the daily lives of the teams run as efficiently as possible
Your Profile:
- Proven track record managing software engineering managers, including recruiting, coaching, and motivating team members to achieve outstanding results
- Strong English communication skills; both written and spoken. You must excel in meetings, articulating technical concepts clearly and confidently, and fostering seamless communication within the team
- Extensive demonstrated experience in software development with a strong understanding of modern technologies, languages, and frameworks
- Minimum 8 years of experience
