  • Are you tired of working on products you don't really care about?

Do you want to work on something that has a positive impact on humanity and our planet? Do you like to get stuck in and are you passionate about coding? Then we have a great opportunity for you.

At Global Changer, you will work on a solution with a clear goal: Helping companies reduce emissions faster. We use one of the biggest levers to fight the climate crisis and work mainly with large organizations. So you'll go to work every day full of motivation. Believe us, we've experienced it ourselves.

We have well-known investors (including neosfer - part of the Commerzbank Group and the former CIO of innogy) and renowned customers (including Heraeus, Görtz and Haniel) and can therefore continue to drive our rapid growth.

Our goal is to reach as many companies as possible worldwide with our software and thus play a decisive role in the fight against the climate crisis. Impact is therefore one of our core values and with us you have the opportunity to further develop a product with which you will make a global difference!

    About the software:

Our product is a SaaS B2B platform that supports companies on their entire sustainability journey, with a focus on the one thing that will help our planet: Reducing emissions. Our workloads run on self-hosted Kubernetes clusters.

    Tasks

    • We’re expanding our on-prem/edge platform and need someone to own the full lifecycle of our self-managed Kubernetes: You will work closely with our CTO and software engineers to design, build, and operate our high-available, self-hosted Kubernetes clusters
    • You’ll be the person who makes sure our platform is boringly reliable - even when hardware fails, power blips, or a kernel update goes sideways.
    • You will establish best-practices and workflows in the team - may it be in operations, development, or security

    How we work:

Our development team is focused on growth, personal and collective reflection and follows industry-standard agile processes with two-week sprints. We are committed to agile development and prioritize delivering user value with each sprint by breaking features into small, manageable pieces - we do the same for infrastructure.

    Technologies that we use:

    • Distro: RKE2 with Canal and Wireguard
    • Observability: Prometheus/Alertmanager, Grafana, Loki; SLOs, error budgets, and actionable alerts
    • Security & compliance: Realtime thread detection & periodic cluster scans (Kubescape, Falco), SBOM & vulnerability scanning (Trivy/Grype), secrets (SoPS)
    • CI/CD: Argo CD, Helm, GitHub Actions
    • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform for bare-metal and supporting services; Ansible for day-2 ops

    Requirements

    • You live in the EU (CET ±3) with a valid work permit
    • Fluent in English, excellent oral and written communication skills, precise language (German is a plus)
    • 5+ years in DevOps/SRE/Platform roles, ideally at least 3+ years running Kubernetes in production (not only managed cloud).
    • Comfortable with GitOps, Helm/Kustomize, and at least one of Flux/Argo CD
    • Solid IaC with Terraform and configuration management (Ansible or similar)
    • Strong security fundamentals: least-privilege RBAC, image provenance, secrets management, admission policies.
    • Hands-on with monitoring/alerting stacks (Prometheus/Grafana/Alertmanager) and crafting meaningful SLOs.
    • Ability to script/automate in Bash and one of Ruby/Go/Python.
    • Hands-on mentality and an agile mindset
    • You are passionate about the fight against the climate crisis and creating customer-oriented solutions that deliver real added value
    • Plus: Compliance exposure (SOC 2/ISO 27001) and secrets rotation at scale
    • Plus: Degree in computer science (Bachelor, Master or Dr.)
    • Plus: Early-stage startup experience

    Benefits

    • Creating long-lasting software with a positive impact - we are here to stay
    • Play a decisive role in shaping our product and corporate culture
    • A mission that drives us every day
    • Fair compensation (first order of magnitude: around € 70,000 gross depending on experience)
    • 28 vacation days and flexible vacation planning (you don't have to plan your entire vacation at the beginning of the year)
    • Flexible working hours - family-friendly :)
    • 100% remote is possible - work from your preferred location
    • Freedom to contribute to the open source community
    • Teamevents

Studies show that men apply for jobs if they fulfill around 60% of the criteria on average. Women and other members of marginalized groups, on the other hand, often only apply if they meet every single criterion. So, if you think you have the potential but don't exactly meet every point in the job description, apply anyway. Applicants of all ages are welcome.
