Managing Director (m/f/d) - for a portfolio company

GHARAGE Ventures is looking for a Managing Director (m/f/d) for Amber Island, one of the portfolio companies which redefines the way premium whiskey is collected in the 21st century. You will play a key role in driving the company’s vision forward and to grow the company and community. Amber Island is a seed stage company transforming the way collectors acquire and experience high-end spirits.

Tasks

• Drive the company’s vision and build a company for further growth, including a strong partnerships, communities and desirable products
• Create and implement a comprehensive business strategy aligned with the business and growth objectives
• Responsibility to identify areas for improvement within the existing processes, develop concepts to optimize them and implement changes
• Overall financial responsibility, including budget, financial planning, and revenue growth
• Preparation of investor reports, as well as preparation and execution of fundraising strategies
• Experience in logistics and order processing is a plus

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in a fast moving / high-performance environment such as start-ups, strategy consulting or banking
• Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to teach yourself about things and a hands-on-mentality
• Track record of driving substantial business growth and market expansion
• Strong analytical and structured way of working, logical thinking skills, and you are able to obtain fast solutions while working independently
• Profound understanding of financial modeling and operations
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines at the same time is no problem for you
• Strategic thinker with the ability and experience in fundraising
• Excellent communication, negotiation skills in English and business fluent in German
• A big plus: experience in spirit industry, D2C and/or e-commerce and a passion for whisky
