  • Help build the sensor powering tomorrow’s climate solutions.

At Everest Carbon, we’re developing cutting-edge sensors that measure how much CO₂ is removed from the atmosphere through Enhanced Weathering — a scalable, natural solution to the climate crisis. Fueled by $3M in funding from leading carbon removal VCs, our technology is already in the field across eight countries worldwide and scaling fast.

We're looking for a practical, driven Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer to join our R&D team at a pivotal moment. You’ll help lead the mechanical development of our next-generation sensing hardware — from concept to manufacture. This role is perfect for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and wants to help scale a product from 100s to 10,000s of units.

This is not a theoretical or siloed engineering role. You’ll own real product architecture decisions, work hands-on with rapid prototyping, and be deeply involved in the full product lifecycle. You'll help us bring robust, field-ready products to life — and into the hands of partners removing carbon from the atmosphere.

    Tasks

    • Take ownership of mechanical design for our sensor products, from early prototypes to production-ready builds
    • Collaborate with electrical and firmware engineers to integrate mechanical and electronic subsystems (including RF/wireless)
    • Design and iterate quickly using CAD, 3D printing, and manual machining tools
    • Specify components and materials, keeping DFM, cost, and quality in mind
    • Lead or support EVT/DVT/PVT stages and work closely with contract manufacturers
    • Develop and implement QA/QC and manufacturing documentation
    • Participate in DFMEA and design reviews with a bias toward action and accountability
    • Support scaling from 100s to 10,000s of units with an eye toward manufacturability and reliability

    Requirements

    • 3+ years in mechanical or mechatronics engineering, ideally in startups, product design consultancies, or small R&D teams
    • Experience shipping B2B or consumer hardware from concept through to manufacture (EVT/DVT/PVT, DFM, QA/QC)
    • Skilled in CAD (e.g. SolidWorks, Fusion 360); hands-on with rapid prototyping (3D printing, machining, fixtures)
    • Familiar with mid-scale manufacturing (10k–100k units), especially plastics and working with contract manufacturers
    • Comfortable integrating electronics (incl. RF/wireless), leading DFMEA, and owning mechanical design end-to-end

    Benefits

    • Competitive compensation: competitive base plus stock option package
    • Mission-first engineering: your work directly contributes to building scalable, real-world climate tech
    • Big impact, small team: you’ll work side-by-side with our Head of R&D, CEO, and other engineers across disciplines
    • Rapid prototyping to real production: we move fast and put things in the field regularly
    • A chance to grow with us: as Everest scales, this role offers room to grow into technical leadership or specialized expert path

We Would Love to Hear From You
