Track Vehicle Repairer Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Perform maintenance on tracked vehicles.
- Supervise activities including fuel and electrical system repair and maintenance.
- Complete vehicle disassembly, reassembly, and verification of functionality and proper operation.
Diagnostic & Repair Responsibilities
- Determine serviceability of vehicle systems, assemblies, or sub-assemblies.
- Analyze malfunctions by:
- Visual and auditory examination.
- Use of test equipment (e.g., scanners).
- Repair, adjust, overhaul, or replace major assemblies/sub-assemblies such as:
- Mechanical engine
- Electrical systems
- Air-conditioning
- Fuel and emission systems
- Power train
- Brake, steering, and suspension systems
- Repair components by replacing worn or damaged parts with new or reconditioned parts.
Maintenance & Inspections
- Perform preventive and special maintenance.
- Conduct special inspections and maintenance on vehicles requiring updates.
- Use technical publications to:
- Understand vehicle systems.
- Maintain vehicles to manufacturer specifications and maintenance schedules.
Technical Integration
- Develop and follow instructions to integrate unique components into existing ground vehicles.
Documentation & Reporting
- Properly document all activities as required by tasks and for reporting purposes.
Additional Skills & Abilities
- Utilize extensive experience in:
- Diesel and gasoline engines
- Automatic transmissions
- Drive systems
- Steering and suspension systems
- Brake systems
- Electronics
- Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
- Ability to lift 70 pounds.
- Works well in a team environment.
