Wunder Mobility builds the software that powers shared mobility worldwide. Our platform runs 20M+ successful trips yearly, processing 50M+ daily API calls, across 500 cities in Europe, the US, and Asia. Operators like Forest (London), Green Mobility (Copenhagen), and Joco (NYC) rely on us every day to move cities forward.
We’ve raised more than €100M, navigated restructuring, and are now profitable, focused, and scaling. Today, we’re investing in analytics and AI with clear monetization goals.
We’re not building research demos — we’re building customer-ready AI features. This is your chance to apply the latest advances in LLMs and machine learning directly into Wunder’s mobility platform, where operators will use them daily to run their businesses more effectively.
Tasks
The Role
As Senior AI Engineer, you’ll be the hands-on builder turning AI concepts into reliable, production-grade features:
- Applied focus: You’ll integrate LLMs and ML models into a live SaaS platform used across 500 cities.
- Product-first mindset: Work hand-in-hand with our Product Manager Data & AI and data analyst to deliver features that operators adopt and pay for.
- Engineering rigor: Design systems that are cost-efficient, secure, and scalable — avoiding “lab prototypes” that don’t hold up in production.
- AI differentiation: Help us embed AI into Wunder’s platform in ways that create a real competitive advantage.
What You’ll Do
- Ship AI-powered product features into production (conversational analytics and fleet operator tooling).
- Integrate LLM APIs and open-source models (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face) into backend services.
- Fine-tune and optimize models where needed for performance, cost, and domain relevance.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for model deployment and integrate monitoring tools like LangSmith for evaluation and observability.
- Collaborate with backend engineers (Java Spring Boot) and frontend developers (React/React Native) to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Establish best practices for monitoring and scaling AI features.
Requirements
What You Bring
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with demonstrable expertise implementing LLM-based solutions
- Deep hands-on skills in JavaScript/NodeJS and experience with AWS Bedrock, LangSmith, and LLM integration frameworks.
- Experience shipping AI features into production SaaS environments — beyond prototypes.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS), model lifecycle management, and cost/performance trade-offs.
- Familiarity with LLM integration, fine-tuning, and evaluation techniques.
- Product-driven mindset: you care about solving real customer problems, not just model accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate with product and business stakeholders and thrive in small, focused teams.
Benefits
What You’ll Get
- Direct impact: Your features will be in the hands of operators powering millions of trips.
- Applied AI work: Focus on turning research into usable, revenue-generating features.
- Collaborative setup: Work with a dedicated PM and data analyst, not in isolation in one team.
- Hybrid model: 3 days in our Hamburg office, 2 days remote OR working remotely in Europe.
- 25-day paid & unlimited unpaid vacation: Take the time to rest and recharge!
- 30-day workation: Work from anywhere in the world once a year.
- Future growth: Opportunity to shape Wunder’s AI engineering standards and mentor future hires.
