    And we're not done yet. We are currently looking for a dedicated Technical Consultant “Climate Change Mitigation” (m/f/d) who is passionate about working with a highly motivated team in developing innovative strategies and new project ideas to foster climate change mitigation.

    YOUR ROLE IN SHORT

    As team member of our business field Mitigation Strategies, you will work on climate change mitigation related projects, contribute with your expertise and skills and coordinate with clients and partners to build long-term relationships and deliver high-quality services. In your day-to-day work you will be able to design innovative approaches to support countries in implementing their climate mitigation targets and assess and develop own GHG mitigation calculations in various sectors (e.g. renewable energy, energy efficiency, transport). You will serve as a key resource person and guide, manage, and work inside project teams using your strong technical and analytical expertise to successfully develop and steer mitigation projects, decarbonisation roadmaps, and greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting frameworks.

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Providing technical expertise and deliverables to various climate change mitigation projects and guiding our highly motivated project teams in delivering project outputs and in interacting with clients and project partners. Typical topics include:
    • Advisory services and research on mitigation strategies, such as updating national mitigation targets (e.g. under the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) of the Paris Agreement), development of mitigation projet concepts and proposals and low emission development strategies (LEDS)
    • Conceptual design of climate finance and carbon market activities, incl. building and applying robust international, national, sectoral and project-specific GHG emission reduction methodologies
    • Designing frameworks to measure and report mitigation impacts at the international, national, sectoral and project-level
    • Independent written input into deliverables; elaboration of Excel-based calculations and PowerPoint presentations
    • Autonomously manage projects (incl. client communication) and project teams and partners
    • Present results to project stakeholders and wider international audiences, and justify outcomes/findings
    • Support business development and sales with technical expertise

    YOUR PROFILE

    • 5+ years of professional experience in the field of climate change mitigation, carbon markets related to different sectors (e.g., energy / transport / industry / waste / agriculture)
    • Dedicated and experienced professional who cares about climate change, enthusiastic about developing new ideas and projects and about taking responsibility within a team of highly motivated professionals
    • Master’s degree related to environmental engineering, renewable energies, or similar
    • Previous experience in working on climate change mitigation projects, national and/or climate mitigation impact accounting
    • Fast solution-orientated thinker with an ability to articulate concepts clearly in writing and verbally
    • Ability to transfer technical / analytical assessment into high-quality and easy-to-understand outputs (verbally and in writing)
    • Proven ability to manage projects autonomously, including client communication
    • Excellent presentation and report writing skills that meet highest professional standard
    • Well-structured with an ability to set priorities
    • Strong desire in moving things forward and bringing in own ideas
    • Willingness to travel internationally
    • Proficient user of PowerPoint, Word and Excel
    • Full working proficiency in English is a must; French, Spanish, Arabic and/or German are considered a plus
