Tasks

Architect our Backend: Independently design, develop, and optimize modern web applications with a focus on the backend.
End-to-End Ownership: Manage the complete development lifecycle - from requirements analysis to testing and deployment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, product, and other engineering teams to continually refine the system architecture.
System Optimization & Scaling: Establish best practices to ensure code quality and maintainability.
Technical Leadership: Contribute to technical decisions, perform code reviews, and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing and excellence.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience in full-stack / backend development with a strong command of modern back-end technologies (e.g., Express.js / Node.js, Python)
Demonstrated ability to build scalable, high-performance web applications and implement effective optimization strategies
Experience in agile development methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing to ensure rapid, reliable delivery
Proficiency in backend frameworks and the integration of RESTful APIs and GraphQL
Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and caching techniques
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a passion for clean, maintainable code
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and glue work
Highly motivated and proactive, eager to take ownership of the full domain and follow through in a fast-paced, aspiring startup environment
Fluency in English and good command of German
