Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy complex backend systems, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Set and uphold engineering best practices, coding standards, and architecture guidelines.
- Build and maintain core platform components such as APIs, services, and infrastructure that support product-wide functionalities.
- Lead technical discussions and influence architectural decisions across the organization.
- Mentor and support engineering peers, promoting a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and encourage engineering excellence.
- Research and incorporate emerging technologies to continuously evolve the platform.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in backend system architecture and performance optimization.
- Demonstrated leadership in end-to-end project delivery from design to deployment.
- Hands-on experience with Node.js, PostgreSQL (or similar databases), RabbitMQ (or other message queues), and AWS (or comparable cloud platforms).
- Expertise in API design, distributed systems, and testing (unit and integration).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and teamwork skills in a remote, fast-paced environment.
- A strong appetite for learning and keeping up with technological advancements.
- Bonus points for experience with platform-wide tech adoption, open-source contributions, or knowledge of the localization domain.
