    About the Role

Technical Training is foundational to Extreme Networks’ success. Partners who are confident in Extreme technologies position solutions more effectively, deliver better outcomes, and win more deals. This role exists to turn deep technical expertise into scalable partner impact.

As a Technical Training Instructor within Partner Technical Enablement, part of the Services organization at Extreme Networks, you will play a key role in developing partner pre- and post-sales engineers into confident, customer-facing educators and strong advocates for Extreme Networks solutions.

This role is ideal for professionals from GTAC, Professional Services, or similar technical delivery roles who have deep hands-on experience and enjoy engaging with others, explaining solutions, and representing Extreme in front of partners.

Formal teaching experience is not required. What matters most is technical credibility, strong communication skills, and the desire to help partners succeed.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Deliver instructor-led technical training courses primarily aligned to the Extreme Certified Network Associate (ENCA) program, with occasional delivery of Extreme Certified Professional (ECP) courses.
    • Teach partners how to deploy, operate, and troubleshoot Extreme solutions using real-world experience and practical examples.
    • Select and own two to three core technology domains to teach, aligned with personal technical strengths and business needs.
    • Deliver training primarily in person, with occasional virtual instructor-led sessions.
    • Travel up to 40 percent to deliver partner training, typically teaching on Tues/Wed/Thurs.
    • Leverage field, support, or services experience to enrich course delivery with practical insight and real-world scenarios.
    • Update and improve existing course materials as needed, with guidance and support from the enablement organization.
    • Assist with the creation of new training content and labs as the partner program continues to scale.
    • Contribute to hands-on lab development and assist with certification lab exam creation within assigned technologies.
    • Engage partners in a consultative, approachable manner that builds trust, confidence, and advocacy for Extreme solutions.
    • Serve as a visible ambassador for Extreme’s technology, culture, and partner-led growth strategy.

    Required Qualifications
    • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies.
    • Background in GTAC, Professional Services, Systems Engineering, or a similar customer- or partner-facing technical role.
    • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and confidently.
    • Comfort leading discussions, answering live technical questions, and engaging audiences in a classroom or workshop setting.
    • Willingness to learn instructional techniques and grow into a formal training role.
    • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50 percent.
    • Passion for helping partners succeed and for representing Extreme professionally.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Extreme Networks technologies such as switching, wireless, fabric, network access control, or cloud-managed networking.
    • Prior exposure to ENCA or ECP certifications, either as a student, contributor, or instructor.
    • Experience mentoring, onboarding, or knowledge-sharing within GTAC, Professional Services, or engineering teams.
    • Interest in adult learning, technical enablement, or curriculum development.
    • Experience contributing to labs, documentation, or internal knowledge bases.

    Why This Role Matters

This role is a cornerstone of partner-led growth at Extreme. By converting deep technical expertise into scalable partner education, this position directly enables partners to win more opportunities and deliver stronger solutions. Technical Training is not an extension of support, it is a growth engine. Success in this role has a direct and visible impact on Extreme’s ability to scale.
