At Brandback, we’re on a mission to redefine shopping with AI. Founded by experienced operators and backed by top tier investors and angels from the retail industry, we have gone from strength to strength since launching our product last year.

We are looking for a product-minded Software Engineer who will build production AI systems that directly power our product. You'll develop AI agents that search, analyze, and take actions across the web, build intelligent pricing systems, and create LLM-powered applications at scale. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll ship working systems, not just models or pipelines. As an early team member, you'll have significant autonomy and impact, working directly with founders to shape our AI strategy.

Tasks

What you will be doing

Building AI agents and agentic workflows that search, evaluate, and purchase products across multiple platforms
Developing LLM-powered systems for directed search and content analysis at scale
Creating web scrapers and automation tools that intelligently combine data from multiple sources
Implementing embedding systems (text/image) for search, analytics, and market intelligence
Building ML-powered pricing engines that work with unstructured data
Shipping production systems end-to-end, from data collection through API deployment
Designing data and vector layers to support multiple existing and planned use-cases

Requirements

Must have

Proven experience building production AI/ML systems (show us what you've built!)
Strong Python and/or TypeScript engineering skills with experience in web automation
Hands-on experience with LLMs in production (prompt engineering, agent frameworks, RAG systems)
Experience with embedding models and vector databases
Track record of shipping end-to-end systems, not just models
Comfortable with scraping, APIs, and handling messy real-world data
Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
Passion for AI and its practical applications

Nice to have

Experience in an early-stage startup environment
Hands-on computer vision experience
Experience with real-time data processing and monitoring
Experience with prompt optimization and LLM evaluation at scale
