    Team Description

    Our Corporate Finance / Corporate Development team sits at the heart of SumUp's strategic and financial operations. The team is responsible for shaping and executing the company's capital structure strategy, managing investor and lender relations, and driving initiatives that prepare SumUp for its next stage of growth.

    Working closely with FP&A, Legal, and Senior Management, the team ensures that all financing activities are executed effectively, reported accurately, and aligned with SumUp's long-term vision. It's a high-performing, collaborative team where ownership, precision, and curiosity are key.

    What you'll do

    As a Corporate Finance Associate, you'll play a pivotal role in executing the operational backbone of the Corporate Finance function. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Own the reporting process for lenders and investors, ensuring that communications are accurate, compliant, and always top quality.
    • Drive trade execution across equity and debt transactions — managing documentation, shareholder approvals, and post-deal follow-up.
    • Keep our investor relationships on track by maintaining an up-to-date investor database and preparing management for key meetings and conferences.
    • Coordinate due diligence across multiple workstreams, aligning stakeholders and delivering insights that strengthen SumUp's equity story.
    • Co-own our financial model, supporting scenario analysis and IFRS-aligned updates that feed into strategic decisions.
    • Stay ahead of the market by monitoring public company performance and macro trends, helping shape how we tell our financial story.

    You'll be great for this position if

    You'll thrive in this role if:

    • You have a strong grasp of financial analysis and can translate data into clear insights.
    • You understand debt and equity capital markets and how they connect to corporate strategy
    • You're proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and enjoy presenting financial data visually, in a compelling way.
    • You're organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
    • You're a strong communicator who can simplify complex concepts.
    • You're curious, proactive, and eager to grow in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
    • Previous experience in investment banking, private equity, or consulting is a plus.
