  • About the Role at RobCo

At RobCo, we develop AI-powered robotic systems that make industrial processes more autonomous, efficient, and scalable. Our Autonomous Manufacturing Platform combines modular industrial hardware with physical AI, enabling rapid deployment and continuous optimization in real production environments.

With locations in Munich, San Francisco, and Austin, and backed by leading investors such as Lightspeed, Lingotto Innovation, and Sequoia, we are working to redefine industrial automation.

At RobCo, we automate the ordinary, so humans can do the extraordinary. To achieve this, we are looking for an ambitious (Senior) Concept Engineer (m/f/d) to help us establish RobCo as Europe’s leading provider of automation solutions.

You’ll sit right at the intersection of customer needs and cutting-edge robotics technology. In our Pre-Sales Organization, you will transform customer challenges into tailored automation concepts — combining creativity, technical expertise, and a consultative approach.

What makes this role unique: You won’t be working for just any system integrator. At RobCo, you are part of a highly innovative robotics manufacturer that designs, develops, and builds its own modular industrial robots from the ground up. That means you have direct access to the people, technology, and know-how behind the product — enabling you to create solutions without the limitations of off-the-shelf systems.

Working side-by-side with Account Executives, you’ll design proof-of-value solutions that clearly demonstrate how RobCo can solve complex manufacturing problems. You’ll have full creative bandwidth to think outside the box, run feasibility studies, and design concepts that showcase the power and flexibility of modular robotics.
You can work on-site with our Concept Engineering team in Munich or full-time remotely from anywhere in Germany (if you live significantly farther from Munich).

    Your Responsibilities

    • Consult & create – Partner with customers and sales colleagues to understand requirements and develop tailored and feasible automation concepts.

    • Design solutions – Translate customer needs into technically sound, cost-effective robotic automation designs.

    • Demonstrate value – Prepare and deliver compelling demos, simulations, and proof-of-value concepts.

    • Bridge worlds – Act as the technical voice in sales conversations, making complex topics simple and tangible.

    • Collaborate & coordinate – Work closely with internal stakeholders (engineering, product, solutions, operations) to align on deliverables and timelines.

    • Gather insights – Capture customer feedback and feed it directly into product development for continuous improvement.

We're looking for someone who has:

    • Several years’ experience in technical pre-sales, automation design, or mechanical engineering — preferably in robotics, automation, or precision engineering.

    • Hands-on experience with industrial robots and common automation components such as pneumatic cylinders, conveyors, vision/camera systems, grippers, or linear axes.

    • Strong CAD and/or simulation skills (e.g., Autodesk Fusion, SolidWorks).

    • The ability to think creatively and translate customer needs into practical, scalable solutions.

    • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Comfort working directly with customers, including on-site visits (travel approx. 20–30%).

    • Professional fluency in English or German (additional languages are a plus).

    Why join RobCo?

    • Develop modular, software-defined robotics solutions with us that set new standards in automation.

    • Help us build robots equipped with state-of-the-art AI that perceive their environment, analyze data, and make intelligent decisions in real time.

    • As part of a very dynamic and fast-growing scale-up, you will take on responsibility from day one, drive your own projects, and see the direct impact of your work.

    • Flat hierarchies, open communication, and regular 360° feedback enable fast decisions and support your professional and personal development.

    • Work out across Germany in over 7,200 studios with our subsidized Wellpass membership.

    • Flexible working hours, a modern office, and—depending on the role—the option to work from home.

    • Regular team events—from relaxed beer & pizza nights on the rooftop terrace to shared experiences on ski trips or at Oktoberfest.
