We’re looking for a Founding Recruiter to build and scale our hiring engine from scratch owning everything from sourcing product minded engineers and AI talent to shaping how candidates experience Kuro’s pace, quality, and kindness.
Lea and Jonas scaled two of Europe's leading construction tech companies - Capmo and alcemy - and saw firsthand the challenges holding the industry back. Now they're tackling the root cause: the 50% of construction work still lost to manual data handling.
Kuro is the the intelligent project data system for construction. We're reimagining how construction professionals get work done and make decisions by leveraging AI to augment back-office workflows and make core data accessible.

We are 10 people based in Berlin. You will join a group of ex-technical founders and builders that are ambitious and kind.

As our Founding Recruiter you’ll partner directly with the founders (Lea and Jonas) to hire entrepreneurial, product-minded engineers, AI talent, and exceptional business operators. You’ll create clarity and process where none exists yet, ensuring every candidate feels the pace, quality, ambition, and kindness that define how we build Kuro.
We’re incredibly proud of the team we’ve built so far - a group of smart, humble, and driven individuals. Among our first four full-time hires are three former CTOs. As Kuro enters its next growth chapter, we’re looking for someone who has been part of a scaling journey in a tech company and brings exceptional taste in talent - someone who knows what “great” looks like and how to attract it.

Partner with founders to define hiring plans, role priorities, and ideal profiles based on business needs
Own full-cycle recruiting for all roles - from AI, data, and full-stack engineering to sales, customer success, and design
Build and maintain strong, diverse candidate pipelines using creative sourcing strategies
Shape and continuously refine Kuro’s interview process — from messaging and scorecards to metrics and feedback loops
Collaborate with the team to deliver an exceptional candidate experience so that every touchpoint reflects Kuro’s culture of curiosity, quality, and empathy
You have worked as a recruiter or talent partner in a fast-growing tech company - now you’re ready to take full ownership and help shape the foundation of a company from the ground up.
You:
Have 2+ years of experience recruiting for technical roles (software, data, AI/ML) and are excited to also hire for business roles (sales, operations, customer success)
Have recruited across senior and mid-level levels in startup or growth-stage environments
Know how to build pipelines from scratch and manage multiple roles in parallel
Have a great eye for talent and a proven track record of delivering high-quality hires fast
Care deeply about candidate experience, storytelling, and brand
Thrive in 0→1 environments — structured enough to deliver quality, but fast-moving and pragmatic
Are fluent in English (German is a plus)
Are based in Berlin or willing to relocate
We work in-person from our office in Berlin Mitte. You must be willing to be located in Berlin. We aim for 4-5 days in the office a week.
Our goal is to build a small, highly motivated team of smart, kind, and driven individuals who are eager to learn, embrace challenges, and challenge others in return. We value pragmatic people who are unafraid to take ownership and decisions.

No over-blown structures or planning sessions

Challenge review and deep dive (60 minutes)

Compensation: $54K – $78K • 0.05% – 0.15%
