  • With this newly created role, GMR is expanding its regulatory compliance team to support a range of actors in assessing the environment of fast moving EU policies and to meet their obligation accordingly.     The successful candidate will possess an academic or professional background in media studies, media regulation, or media industry–related journalism, with particular emphasis on European markets.

    The position entails the development of methodologies and the implementation of protocols to support regulatory compliance within the framework of current EU legislation governing the digital media sector. Responsibilities will extend from the execution of case-specific assessments to the design and scaling of comprehensive workstreams, including the preparation and maintenance of documentation.

    This role requires the capacity to integrate strategic regulatory insight with a high degree of operational precision. In view of anticipated team expansion, the position will also encompass leadership responsibilities, including the supervision and mentoring of junior associates.

    Tasks

    • Lead the calibration and continuous refinement of methodologies, processes, and tools in the field of regulatory compliance.
    • Conduct eligibility checks and case-by-case assessments within the applicable regulatory framework.
    • Develop and facilitate engagement strategies with relevant third-party stakeholders, including providing guidance on risk management.
    • Manage appeals procedures and oversee the consistent review of decisions.
    • Maintain and update databases, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and high standards of documentation and quality control.
    • Provide timely responses to escalations and coordinate externally facing communications.
    • Streamline workflows and mentor junior team members in the effective implementation of processes.
    • Ensure regular reporting, comprehensive documentation, and active participation in internal and external meetings.

    Requirements

    • 5 to 10 years of proven expertise in the European media and regulatory environment.
    • Ability to integrate strategic and methodological design with precise operational execution.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the capacity to mentor and guide junior colleagues.
    • Excellent research, analytical, and organisational abilities.
    • Strong communication skills, with experience engaging stakeholders in sensitive and highly politicised contexts.
    • Working language is English; proficiency in additional European languages is considered an asset.
