acemate is building an AI learning & teaching platform for higher and further education institutions. We have strong traction, secured funding and are entering an exciting growth phase. We're looking for a passionate Mobile App Developer (React Native) to drive our product forward and help us scale.

Tasks

What You'll Do

Serving as a Mobile Software Developer and a key foundational team member, you will function as a core product owner with significant influence over our mobile architecture and user experience. You will take full end-to-end ownership of the technical systems that power our mobile functionalities, encompassing everything from state management and UI architecture to performance monitoring and API integration.

Build the core product, extending beyond simply the UI: You will take ultimate ownership of each feature you engineer. This requires designing fluid user flows, managing complex local state, and ensuring a highly responsive, native-like performance. You will build it, ship it, and continuously refine it.
Architect for scalability and intelligence: You will map out highly scalable mobile architectures (leveraging modern patterns like MVVM or TCA) that integrate flawlessly with our Effect-based backend and AI systems. You will tackle the complexities involved with real-time synchronization, offline-first logic, and streaming AI responses.
Promote technical excellence: You will proactively identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks—including render cycles and app startup time—while simultaneously raising the bar for maintainability, type safety, and UX consistency across the entire codebase.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Strong experience with TypeScript & React Native.
End-to-End Ownership: You don’t throw things over the wall. You own your features until they are running successfully in production and used by real learners.
Startup experience: You’re comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments
Balanced AI approach: You knew how to code before Cursor and Claude Code, but understand how to leverage them effectively
Product passion: High identification with our mission to transform education
