      YouGov America Inc. a seeks market research professional who is a rising star, with specific interest in the gaming and interactive entertainment sector. As an Associate Director in this sector you will utilize your research and account management skills to work directly with end clients as well as both senior executives and junior staff at YouGov. You will work with high level gaming and interactive entertainment clients as you conduct multiple projects within the gaming industry/sector category team, working on all phases from proposal writing to survey and project design to results and insights delivery. You will play a critical role in ensuring success with clients in ways that grow and extend YouGov’s gaming, esports, and interactive entertainment business. The work and coverage will broadly extend into technology CPG clients as well.

      While you will report to and be part of a team primarily based in our Cheshire, CT office, we are considering fully remote applications as well, including for applicants based elsewhere in the US (several team members are working remotely from home, and if preferred, in-office work could potentially be based where YouGov has other office locations).

      What will I be doing day to day?

      • Work both independently and as part of a team to oversee, own, and manage all aspects of connected and custom projects, from proposal/bid phase, to survey/screener development, field management, data processing, analysis, report writing, and presenting
      • Work closely with clients, additional team members, and internal departments / functions to manage project and overall client book of business outcomes
      • Work to become a responsive and trusted advisor/consultant to clients in the context of research projects, and help develop strong client relationships and delivery skills that lead to repeat business from current clients.
      • Support development of research proposals and help recommend research designs
      • Contribute to design and writing of research reports with actionable insights and recommendations and help present findings to our clients
      • Perform analysis on collected data and interpret findings in ways that answer key business questions; experience with multivariate techniques considered a plus (segmentation, MaxDiff, discrete choice/conjoint, driver modeling, etc.), 
      • Continually grow and develop technology-related sector knowledge, including gaming and entertainment, to the benefit of relevant clients and the business

      What do I need to bring with me?

      • Experience (minimum 5+ years) conducting custom, primary market research projects, with majority of that experience on the supplier/vendor side
      • Specific expertise and interest in the gaming, esports, and interactive entertainment sector, with additional background in and/or interest in technology clients a key plus
      • Experience with a wide variety of research techniques across a wide range of clients, business needs, and contexts including new product development, concept testing, segmentation, pricing, branding, portfolio optimization, messaging, positioning, market opportunity assessment, market sizing, brand health drivers, continual tracking initiatives, etc.
      • Knowledge of and some history with stats and ability to interpret and manage numbers -- considered a plus if have interest in and/or prior experience with the application of more advanced approaches, methods, and techniques such as segmentation, MaxDiff, driver modeling, discrete choice / conjoint / choice-based techniques, etc. (Note: in this role you will learn, understand, and grow with the application and interpretation of such techniques, but you will not necessarily crunch or model the numbers, which is typically handled by marketing science staff)
      • Ability to assist with or lead development/writing of complex quantitative surveys, to address and operationalize client business questions, needs, objectives, and hypotheses
      • Ability to assist with or lead development/writing of moderately complex, slides-based (PPT, Google Slides) research reports focused on business question insights and implications, narrative-driven synthesis, and story-telling through data visualizations, graphics, infographics, and insights-driven headlines
      • Ability to deliver, thrive, and be flexible in a deadline-driven, client satisfaction-focused environment, while at the same time working in a team-focused environment to best meet client needs
      • Strong experience with Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, Word/Docs
      • Effective writing, time management, multitasking, communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
