Software Engineer - Microservices & Data Architecture
Starting date: as soon as possible
Our compensation package: €70,000 - €75,000 in yearly salary, €20,000 - €40,000 in equity. Additionally up to €5,000 p.a. in company benefits

Your role
You build the data platforms that enable the scalability of smart industrial classification systems. You are pivotal in architecting and implementing robust, scalable systems that efficiently manage data flow and processing across different domains within Orbem.
Your day to day
Design and implement scalable microservices, maintaining domain consistency.
Architect and manage data pipelines with Medallion Architecture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine data models and APIs for business and data integration.
- Lead the adoption of best practices in software and data engineering, including CI/CD, containerization, and automated testing.
- Evaluate and incorporate modern data processing and storage technologies to enhance system scalability and performance.
- Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance standards are met throughout all stages of data processing and application development.
- Offer mentorship and guidance in technical practices within the team.

Job requirements
Your expertise and qualities
Skilled in software and data engineering principles.
Knowledgeable in Medallion Data Architecture, Domain Driven Design and preferably Data Mesh approaches.
Expertise in designing and developing microservices.
Experience with data processing and storage technologies (e.g. Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, NoSQL).
Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering business value.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
